Hi everyone! My name is Kim (if you didn't get that by my username, LOL) and I am currently not a P5 owner. Truthfully I'm not even sure I will be. LOL Let me explain my situation.
I have a Morris Minor that has been in our loft for over 10 years. A associate of my husbands saw the Minor a while back ago and he has been on my husband about buying it. I don't want to sell. So FForward to Monday of this week! I go to my hubby's work and the guy is there. He asked hubby if he had talked to me yet. Hubby told him to ask me. So he asks me if I want to sell the Minor. No, I don't! FF about an hour. We start talking about my kids Miata. Then he say's did you guy's see the car I just picked up? So we go out and look at it.
It's a black P5. Automatic, a plus in my eyes, with a thing you ( I think) slide over and it makes it a stick!! Anyway, it is a pretty clean car. Hubby and I tell him it is really nice and get ready to go back inside. Then it happened. He said to me, "I will trade you this car for your Minor!!" I'm now in shock! I said you are crazy. I would be getting an awesome deal and you would be getting a rotten one!! He said that is how much he loves his wife. He is willing to trade that car for the Minor!
I told him to come by the house so he can look at the minor better before he he goes through with anything. As of today Wed. he hasn't been by. I know he wants the Minor bad, so I am thinking he is just trying to show he is in no hurry!
Anyway, here I am now. I have a thread going at the Miata forum (another site), but I thought I would go ahead and join here to ask a few questions.
I don't know what year the car is. I didn't really pay attetion because when we were looking at it, it wasn't a trading chip! LOL I have read they only made this car a couple of years. Is that a fact? What years? Wouldn't that make this car more of a collector because of the limited amount made??
Now this is probably a dumb question here, but here it goes! LOL How do you guy's like you P5? Any thing I should look at if he comes by to look at mine?
I appreciate all the info you can give!! I want to learn about the car as much as I can, even though I may not end up with it!
Thanks
Kim
