Hello!

I joined here to ask a specific question (see it in Accessories), but I figured I should be sociable and say hello!

While it is mostly my wife's car, I have enjoyed driving our Touring CX-9. Its automatic is very impressive, especially in manual-gear-change mode. And its cornering and handling are much closer to my Audi A4 ('02 3.0Q 6M) than I'd have expected! Our only gripes were the horrible iPod interface (we should've never asked for it, and it's now yanked), and the inability to lower the seatbelt to be comfortable for my 5'1" wife (see my accessories post).

This forums looks like it'll be as helpful as Audiworld is for my A4 experiences. We live in Massachusetts, and our driveway demands AWD for any car we own. (The CX-9 replaced a 2000 Outback.)

Thanks!

Hey Dan... I'm an ex Audiworlder... (01 B5 A4 1.8t long gone and an 03 Allroad also gone) but still visit AWOT most everyday.

I picked an 08 Touring AWD CX-9 for the wife a few weeks ago, replacing an 04 Forester XT... too funny. The forester was just not big enough as a family car.

I think you'll find these forums to be somewhat helpful, but don't expect the responsiveness of Audiworld... these forums are pretty slow by comparison.

What ipod interface are you talking about? WE didn't get the bose, so we just have the 1/8" audio jack in the console. Was the interface integrated into your radio?

EXACTLY! She wanted to give visiting grandparents somewhere to sit as well as the rest of us.

It's the one that's available as a dealer-installed accessory. It tricks the stereo into thinking it's a cartridge-loading CD changer... horrible UI, and as a side-effect it disables the auxiliary-input. We had to pay twice, once for the install, and once for the disabling/aux-restoration. Can't b**** about the dealer though, given their patience with the Outback's missing-title fiasco. That's a whole other off-topic story, though.
