alright i've done some searching and surfing and have decided to get some new headlights, bright whites not blues. but i cant decide on where to purchase or what type. i've been looking at protegegarage.com and found eurolite, those any good? i want the brightest white ones that wont damage/burn anything and will last a long time. i want all low beams, high beams, and fogs to be white. just need suggestions, thanks. oh and pics are also welcome. (rockon)

well i just want something simple so i'll stick with bulbs. but if i can get more bang for the buck i might put in for a HID conversion, depends what i can get.

just to dumb it down, i want bright lights, like the ones you see on all the new fancy luxury cars (ie lexus, bmw, etc.).

Those are HIDs. Can't get that from just a bulb.

alright, sorry for my newby question then (dark) what is the best one for the price, i was searching the site for some but only came across a few topics of them. thanks.

Since you're looking for the brightest, whitest bulbs with the most light output, these would be my recommendations:

For the low beam: Osram H7 Silverstars. These are superior to the domestic Sylvania Silverstars since not having the blue tint of the Sylvanias, they are brighter.

For the high beam: Osram does not make Silverstar 9005 bulbs. Here, I would suggest Philips Premium 9005 (HB3) bulbs as Philips claims 30% more light output than standard 9005's, and they do not appear to be tinted which would cut down on light output.

I have to point out that having the DX, I have the dual filament Osram Silverstar H4 bulbs and from personal experience they have the best light output of any bulb I've used to date. Consequently, I've never used and have no personal experience with the Philips 9005 bulb and so I'm suggesting it based purely on their specs.

Both are available from: www.powerbulbs.co.uk

I have ordered several times from Powerbulbs. They are completely reliable and always ship very quickly. I believe they also still have free shipping.

alright thanks man for the help, appreciate it. no more suggestions or anything? (poke)

ok i checked out the site and came across this:

For low beams i started thinking and want one for appearance and came across Philips GT150 Power2Night H7, bright and even have the blue effect in the daytime...which is always a plus.

For high beams i'll take your advice on the Philips Blue Vision 9005 (HB3).

any reviews on the eurolites from www.protegegarage.com ?

I had eurolites in my subaru...

Theyre better than stock, but the silverstars I have in my protege are much better.

I second the Silverstar's, although be aware that depending on how much you use your lights, there can be decreased life. That bothers some folks. For me, they last about 8 months but I don't mind the additional annual cost since I really like the increased light output and our factory reflectors are very good.

dude, if you want some REAL nice looking bulbs, that arent too expensive, go on ebay and look for MTEC H7 x2 or x4 bulbs. i LOVE the way they look. and not to bash, silverstars are waaay to overrated.

I've got those silverstars. They don't put out any more light than stock. All Sylvania did was alter the bulb's light spectrum to put out more white light. Basicly, take a standard bulb, and get rid of the yellow. At first they seem brighter, but if you really look, you'll see they don't reach out any farther, or provide any more light over stock. It's just a "whiter" light. I've been using them for about 7 months now. They are certainly better than stock. I say go with the silverstars, then supplement your lighting with some decent fog/driving lights.

I bought Eurolites like 10 months ago. They were the blue ones so it might not matter, but they sucked. The light display was awesome, but they burnt out after 2 months, then they had a return policy that they sent you free ones, But you would have to mail them your old pair which cost 6 bucks for shipping.

Over all i loved em when they worked, but hated them for spending more money they i should of. I stopped using them after 3 times of shipping them back.
