How we doing out there? I just got my gauges and A pillar installed this morning. I put in the boost gauge and the air/fuel ratio gauge. I did not do the installation, I took it to a speed shop in the Orlando area. I did not want to attempt doing it myself, I would probably screw something up. Anyways, I love how the gauges look, it turned out really good I think. Take a look at the pics. below and tell me what you think.
Driving home from the speed shop, I was watching the two gauges and seeing what they were doing. The boost gauge is nice. I hit right around 5-6psi, which is fine with me seeing the car has no modifications yet! Then I noticed the air/fuel ratio gauge and I was concerned. Now, I have no experience with this type of gauge, but the behavior of the gauge seemed weird to me. Basically, the gauge bounces back and forth between lean and rich a million times. The only time the gauge is not moving, is when I am coasting. Even at a red light, the gauge is moving all around. I did notice that when you get on the car, full throttle, the light is buried at Rich and stays there until the throttle is let off. I just can't seem to figure out why the gauge is doing this crazy behavior.
So, my question to you all out there, is my gauge installed wrong or is this what an air/fuel ratio gauge does?? Is it supposed to bounce back and forth a million times while driving and while at a stop? If this is the case, what is the exact purpose of this gauge? The reading can not be depended upon, because all the gauge does is move all around and never give a constant reading (execpt at full throttle when it reads a full green and does not move).
Any responses to this thread would be of help. Thanks for taking the time to read this and please, let me know what you all think!!
