Its not that bad, your cat is going to be eaten away over time anyway, its my understanding that backfiring will speed it up.

Like I said, mine doesnt backfire unless I make it.

Exhaust without a cat will backfire easier, friend with corksport on backfires all the time.

not that hard. just have an exhaust shop weld a straight piece of stainless pipe in place of it.

Engine management will definitely get rid of most of the backfire, lol. With the stock, flashed ECU I get some backfire, but it pretty much goes away with the unichip in place.

I'm still thinking about getting this, but I have some hook ups with the shops around here. Going to the dyno tomorrow and will have them give me an estimate on a custom 2.5" exhaust with high-flow cat, resonator, and muffler. I should be able to get one cheaper than the cost of this one.

Cheaper yes, but the vibrant system is very high quality. For a j-pipe back exhaust made from stainless steel with mandrel bends this is a great product for a good price.

Any chance of a group buy being set up? Some local shops said they could match online prices, but the lead time would be high because it's a single part order from Canada, thus there could be a long customs wait. Since Christmas is coming up I doubt people will have the spare $$ to spend on the exhaust, so maybe an after Christmas/New Years group buy? Just curious.

Side note, local shop said they could custom make my exhaust, and they use Vibrant materials, for (hah) $1300.

I really dont feel like sifting through 65 pages of thread so could someone please just fill me in on this exhaust? Obviously someone has it by now, anyone know what it did on the dyno? and are there any vids/noise clips of it? Thanks!

I saw clips of it a while back and can't remember if they're in this thread or not. Probably somewhere. It kinda sucks when one gets this long!
It sounds awesome. It sounds deep and throaty...not ricey, not too loud, but just right.

I sent an email to jdmsam at *************.com last night to inquire about one. Will most likely order it next week. I haven't seen a better exhaust solution for our cars than this one.

Look in the mega exhaust thread, or search in this thread alone for keywords. I have seen 4 vids of this exhaust, pictures of the exhaust on the car and off the car. I'm buying it when I get my money (probably 3 weeks away) and I'm throwing it on the dyno right after.
