New Exhaust for Mazdaspeed Proteges

Quick question: Will this thing bolt up to a DP like GHL's because I just need the catback section. Or, will I be able to just order the catback section and not the DP section, since I already have one that's bolted up to my turbo? The muffler and everything looks really nice, and I'm definitely not looking for a noise maker here, just something that will give me more power and not attract a lot of attention.

you can get something cheaper that would look the same and sound really nice, like the Greddy SP2, thats what I was looking at, until I saw this, since I need DP and Catback.

If you have no cats and go with this or any other Canister muffled exhaust it'll more than likely be pretty lound inside the car.

i think that they did some tests on supra's and found that 2.5" didnt become restrictive until 700hp, and actually made more power than a 3".

yea i think i'll be in as well. i've got a couple pretty big checks on the way. value depreciation from my wreck and a nice tax return this year. i was wondering what people would think if i wanted to replace that cat with a random tech cat. might it be a little less restrictive? is it even necessary? i really really really don't want something that is going to be really loud. i had a can on my previous car and it was soooo loud at higher rpm that i couldn't hear myself think. to be completely honest i'm more worried about the sound that a few extra HP. I would be totally happy with say 15HP increase if i could keep the noise down. so i guess you can say i'm in if a GB can be arranged and i can get a few high quality sound clips. oh yea, and how much less does this weigh than the stock exhaust. lighter is always better!

Info on Group Buy

I talked to John today and he said that the $999 (canadian) about $810 (US) is an intro price but if we want to do a group buy with ten or more people he would give us free shipping. He was saying that's the best way to reduce backpressure, although I'd think going 3" off the bat would have less backpressure than 2.5" to 3". Either way, I think this might be the exhaust I'm going to get depending on if we can get a GB or not.

Ah, An exhaust that expands as it goes out is best, It lets the exhaust gasses expand on the way out they like that better :-D. And this is a proven fact. However what im talking about is not like this exhaust it just bluntly goes to 3. Im speaking of a gradual change throught the exhaust.

Looks nice. How does the sound (ETDRacing MSP muffler) compare to the stock muffler? If it's as loud as the stock one, then fine. Quieter would be better though. I like the horsepower gain for such a non-complex modification.

If you're that concerned with sound, you'll probably want to replace the canister muffler. Their designed more for maximum efficiency of flow than sound.

my stock muffler makes almost no noise, yours does? i am looking for a deep tone, this product was quoted as quite deep rumble when you want and louder deeper rumble when you open up.
As long as it is deep and not high pitched, i will be happy
