2011 CX-9
We got our first Mazda yesterday, a CX-9 Touring with a few extras, and especially my wife is over the moon. She never thought that anything could ever touch her '05 Pilot with that specific combination of athleticism, passenger space and reliability.

This one might!

She forgot the braking distance.
Honda's weakest point. Seond to that is transmission. Honda is still learning.
That's why their 6-speed just came out on "high-end" model only. Sad.
They are still holding on to the SOHC for V6 while the entire world has move on
to DOHC long ago. Don't know what Honda has been drinking (or smoking) these days.
I used to be a Honda loyal customer. New Pilot is really ugly to my eyes.

Welcome to CX9 forum.
You and your wife made the right choice.

Welcome!!

My in-laws just got a new Pilot EX-L a couple months ago. It's a great vehicle to replace a minivan with; it is a person transport; a vehicle to get from point A to point B with, comfortable ride, lots of space, looks better than a minivan, very reliable, but thats about it. The only point it has against the CX-9 is interior space and cubbies/cupholders, places to put things.

CX9 has better space and more useable than the BMW X5 it is replacing for me. Although bigger cubbies in the doors would be nice. We took ours to the beach for the first family outting yesterday, and I was pretty happy with it - seems it will make a great family car for us. We have 2 teenage girls btw, oldest one is driving and it has been pretty smooth for her learning to drive it considering an 03 Protege5 is her only other driving experience.
