as for costs. . i don't really remember everything. . . ive had this setup for over a year and the screen has been in my car for about 1.5 to 2 years. ....almost as long as ive had the car ive had the carputer in it. . ...
as for prices... i remember buying the xenarc/gain screen for 410 shipped (weird how a couple years later they are still the same price)
the case that the carputer is in is a morex cubid (~100 bux)
150 bux: via epia M10000 mobo (1ghz, onboard everyting)
256 corsair ddr that i had lying around
seagate 40gb that i had lying around
50 bux: 16x laptop dvd drive
$40: 60 watt dc/dc psu (company doesn't make them anymore for some reason)
$30 and a priceless amount of time: figured out my own shutdown controller (starts and shuts down the computer with the ignition)
if theres other stuff im missing it'll probably be in my carputer thread or elemental's carputer install thread. . just search for that and most everything should be covereed
what these pics are of my repainted my screen and putting in an eq in front of the cupholders ( i love having a rotary volume knob again)

Looks sweet dude... i'll have to get the info on that skin when I reinstall my carputer. I just picked up a slim dvd/cdr since I thought my dvd rom was busted. turned out it was the cable, but now I can burn cd's in the car..

i'm considering doing this, trying to figure out if its going to be effective and how much it will cost me. i dont have the cash to afford a screen for it, thats my only problem, i have the parts for the rest laying around. maybe throw my laptop on there, pop out of my glove box or something.
