New Bov For Mazda Speed.........

i'm at work.. so i can't look at it.. lol.. using a very old puter..
how much was it? and do a review when u get it installed!

i dont get it, idnt the noise from the air being purged to atmosphere, so how can you spray that to atmosphere and still spray it back into the intake? wouldnt you still be giving the engine less o2 than it thinks its getting thus still running into the too rich stalling issue?

It's a 50/50 split. Me and a couple others have known about this one for a while (at leasst 4 months), but I don't believe that it will get rid of the turkey....

Me and CustomMSP are getting together this weekend to try to kill the turkey with a mostly stock setup....we'll definitely let everyone know if we can get anything to work.

Arent those BOV expensive? Has anybody tried the one from flying miata? I think its very similar. I tried to search for it and was unable to find any sound clips or owners that had much to say about it. Im not sure if it acts as a BPV and BOV or if ti would even work on our cars.

The BOV

From turbosmart is around the 300$ range and there are people out there that have bought it for there MSP and killed the turkey. Will see. I'll try and post sound clips next week.

I'd rather keep my 300.00 (ouch) and live with mr. turkey.

i don't sound that bad to me.

I would love to have a nice whoosh sound without running into stalling or power problems though

If it stops the turkey noise that means no more compressor surge correct? Isnt that BPV/BOV form Australia or is there a distributor in the US that stocks them. Sound clips would be great. Keep me posted.

us distributor is jrp inc....check the delaer section of turbosmart........i like their e boost guage :)

Did you read any of the threads about the comp. surge? Just to sum it up in case you missed them: 2 valves; 1 BPV, 1 BOV. No stalling, no turkey.

I don't think that a dual chamber valve will be the answer. The reason I say this is, I think that the nipple on the stock IC pipe is probably contributing a lot to it. Using 1 dual chamber valve, it would be drawing all of its air through that small nipple instead of drawing it through 2 seperate and larger points like mine and discreetspeed's. Other people have killed the turkey using other methods, but so far the only ones I know of are still using the stock airbox. Discreet and I are the only ones here who have killed it to the point that you can't hear it with the injen on the car.

It would be great for everyone here if you found out if this works though, a lot of people have pm'ed me about how to do something similar to mine without getting hardpipes. If this works, without the stock airbox, then looks like you guys will know what to do. Although for 300 bucks, you pretty much have your choice of either, it would cost about that much to make the IC--->TB hardpipe and put an SSQV on it.

I'm going to contact Forge again when I get back to Orlando because I think the dual piston BOV that they wanted to try out on my car works along the same lines as this. If everything goes well on my car (& hopefully kills the turkey), I'm sure they could produce it specifically for the MSP.

I have spoken with Forge Motorsports. They are developing a OE replacement BPV specifically for the MSP. It will be a billet piece good to 30 psi.

Est $$ 115.00 USD.

See if you can convince that company to come out with the Silicon hoses for our car also!! Those are much cheaper than aluminum or steel hard pipes (like Spool sells for $400, and they go up from there!). Not to mention, the Silicon hoses don't scratch like polished aluminum, they look cool in blue, and they stay cool, they don't conduct heat. They might expand when hot air is forced through them though?? I really want new pipes along with my BOV and CAI...
It would be nice to find someone willing to make that stuff for us!

Has anyone checked out NewDimensions.com? They make parts for VW and have similar products. Im not sure if they would work with our car but someone may be bale to make it work. Prices seem affordable as well. They have both DV valves and BOV/BPV

How much are these BOV's selling for? I just picked up TurboSmart to add to my product listing so Im trying to find out some things about them. Ive heard their Boost controllers are pretty good. But I just cant quite figure out what to sell the things for (or if I can sell them cheap enough!) The TurboSmart line seems to be pretty good.
