uh, yes it does. comes stock with front and rear sway bars, and a front strut tower brace

It's a difficult car to launch, however, because at idle the floor-mounted throttle feels numb and unresponsive to the kind of prods that usually have engines howling. I'm sure you'd get used to it but all too often I found myself pulling out of intersections with the engine off boost, clenched with fear as the car inches across the road while the engine rubs its eyes and decides which tie to wear. Finally, with oncoming traffic looming large in the side window, 2000 rpm is reached, the engine gets its shot of caffeine and we take off. I also stalled it a few times, which, considering I'm supposed to be a professional, is pretty embarrassing....you thunder into a corner too fast and the GLI begins to understeer

lets see, heavy, unresponsive, and doesnt handle well. anything else?
 
so youre just a confused vw owner that thinks your car is better. on the straights, yeah, ill admit, ill get my ass handed to me by a gli cause stock it aint got no power. but ill take a mazda in a road course, autox anyday because of the handling capabilities

and it has bigger sway bars than most of its competition stock. its a car that was sold on its sportiness and handling ability
 
2004 jetta gli curb weight - 3179 lbs

2003 protege5 curb weight 2716 lbs



that alone is enough to make a HUGE advantage for the protege5 in handling. The pro5 has sway bars and a front strut tower bar, like susamafone said. They're decently substantial too. So until you learn wtf you're talking about.... just be quiet.

obiously u have never driven a turbo car... lag is normal.... i garentee a japanize mazdas handleing can not compare to a german GLI... if it was even close to as fast as a GLI u wuld have no handleing ..too bad ur slow and think u can handle corners at 5mph
