Hi this is my first post on here, im currently a member on meganesport has I currenly drive a Megane R26. The reason for registering is that I want to know what the build quility and if there are any known issues on the Mazda 3 MPS has im looking for a change but not sure if I should go for a MPS or something diff. Also whats the best deal people have got on one.

Thanks

Mark

well since you dont live in the US, the issues could be slightly different. if you search around youll find out the some of the 07s had turbo seal issues.

however this might not be the case in your country...

I'm surprised you're even considering a Mazdaspeed 3 considering you're from Europe (No offense) But it seemed to me that the Europeans didn't think much of the Mazdaspeed 3. They called it a tq steering Pig, and said they could've drive it well because of all the power and FWD. They're obviously wrong but I'm just a little surprised you think much of the MS3 being from Europe. Also, I don't think you'll find that many of us have even driven a Megane R26 so it would be kinda hard to say what you should to. I have a Mazdaspeed 3 and love it but then again I've never driven a Megane R26...

Hello there Redr26, the megane you have is a proper car. Most of my family in the UK are Vauxhall drivers, but since you are already a Renault fan what about the new Twingo Sport. Not sure how old you are but I am sure the Insurance will eat you alive on the MPS.

Anyhow the MPS has good build quality, you will notice a few tiny noises, but nothing major. If you fear that sort of thing get yourself a MKV GTI. The gear box take a bit of getting used to, but can be gratifying once you establish it.

Over all I can tell you the MPS will be a great follow up to the r26, I got a few minute of seat time when I was in the UK last year and it felt solid. You will enjoy the interior alot more in the MPS aswell.

Don't base what Europeans think of a car on a few magazine reports from over there.

I 2nd that. I HATE watching/reading car reviews that seem to target a car and just bash on it and point out all the flaws. Thats not just for mazdas.

I can only speak of my 08 MS3. The fit and finish is exceptional. The only rattle I've experianced is a common one known as windsheild cowl rattle but it's easily fixed. The MS3 has to be one of the best if not the best performance values going. A lot has been reported about torque steer and it is present but manageable in my opinion. To be overly concerned about that one aspect (torque steer) and base a purchase decision on that alone would be a mistake. This car has far more positives than negatrives
