unfortunate not. I have saved and worked my a** off for the past year just for the $$$ down. But I only have to pay half of the monthly and my parents pay the other and insurance.

Welcome ... which Galpin did you get it at? the one in SF or the one in Valencia? If yer taking it to Valencia for service ask for Vannessa (I think - she's the only girl in service)- she has taken very good care of my car

We got it from the sf valley one. My dad is good friends with Beau(owner of Galpin) and has been dealing with the dealership manager in Valencia for at least 5 years now. Not to sound like an a hole but if you need anything from Galpin PM me and i'll tell you who to talk to to get a really good deal.

I know. I have to be or else i get booted from the insurance. I also have seen too many close friends get hurt speeding and doing stuff under the influence.(drunk)

congrat! Just be careful with this car because it has such high power! It will take some driving experience to get used to the car and the people around you, especially in cali.

I definitly will have to get used to the front wheel drive aspect of the car (once again not to sound like an a-hole) I learned how to drive in my dads 2004 Porsche so the power is nothing new to me.

Sweet ride for a 16 year old. I remember when I was 16 and wanted a car with power. My parents weren't having any of that, and I was "stuck" driving a minivan for two years, then moved on to a Civic when our family replaced the car. I was sweet on the 1.8T or VR6 Jetta when we got the Civic, but again, my parents weren't having any of that...

10 years and two of my own vehicles later I've bought myself a Speed3, and in retrospect, I'm glad my parents never let me talk them into something faster when they were replacing vehicles. I'm 26 now, and looking back, I wouldn't have known how to handle something fast when I was 16 like I thought I could at the time.

Enjoy the car, but be careful. It's a lot of car for a new and inexperienced driver.

i just turned 17, i bought my mazda3 when i was 16, as my second car, first being a saturn (which i dont want to talk about...) and i've fully paid for both, insurance and all with no help from my parents whatsoever. i do work 50-60 hours a week, going to school full time, but i make more than my father, and i have the money sitting in my bank for the cwp ms3 coming out and i cant wait!

been proven medically and in hospitals and morgues through out the world, that at age 16 the human brain CAN NOT fully understand what danger is. The brain is simply not developed in that area enough until the age of about 20-21.

peterdaniel, there is the slightest chance you might be right about young people not being capable of rational thinking but you don't know anything about this person but his age. You have no business to hand out any judgement of any kind.
Some 16 year old drivers are probably better drivers than "experienced" adult drivers out on the road.

Like most people on here, I drove a beater at 16 as well. In retrospect it was great because driving is a new skill and needs time to be 'learned' just like riding a bike or skiing or any other activity.
My words of advice to the OP: take it to the track. That way you can learn your own limits, as well as the limits of the car and you will be that much more prepared for when danger may present itself. Just be sure to keep that kind of driving on the track and don't let it spill out onto the street...

I was 18 when I got a used 1986 Toyota Tercel that I paid for 100% myself.

I was 25 when I got my first new car. A 1998 Toyota Camry. (Yeah...my screen name...)
