2011 Mazda 2 Sport Green
Just bought a new Mazda 2 2011. Interested in completing suspension upgrades and getting new wheels and tires. What are the widest tires I can go to with a lowering kit? I was thinking 205s but not sure.

Depends on how much camber you'll be running up front, and how low you want to go. Honestly anything over 195 is overkill unless you plan on adding boost. 205's are common, and I'm sure you could fit a 225 if you picked the right offset though you may need to roll the front fenders (just speculation).

hello welcome to the forum im sure if you do a search or check the gallery etc there is tons of pics and most have given details on wheels width offset diameter along with which size tire ,which lowering kit if any etc..ive installed H&R lowering springs and just purchased motegi traklite 15x7 +35 with 195/50x15 ..if your into autox then coilovers are the way to go..glad to see another canuck here EH!

Wow, you just bought a brand new 2011? You must have saved quite a bit. I paid $14,750.00 for a brand new 2012 Touring MT.

Thanks for the welcome. For price you have to remember I live in Canada. Sounds like the 195s are the way to go for tires. I was looking at the ST suspension the lowers 1 to 1.5 inches. I had a Mazda 3 but gave it to my daughter. This car is too much fun to drive. I purchased the sway bar and torsion bar from Cork Sport. These will be my first upgrades.

On our shop car we picked up a set of Miata fitment wheels 15x7 and we went with a 205/50/15 Kumho EXs tires since we were going to be doing suspension testing and we wanted a good grippy tire.
