Faster!?!? You guys are maniacs :D We have twisties like that up here but pavement that is all broken up. I know where your tax money is going :D I liked how there were signs everywhere that said SLOW DOWN, and the random speed bump in the street.

Also wherever it said "SLOW DOWN DEAF CHILDREN PLAYING IN THE STREET" it meant drop 2 gears and wind out the motor. Very fun time. (thumb)

Yeah that speed bump right after that s-turn wasn't there two weeks ago :wtf:

lol, yeah, I was already screeching tires on some turns, don't know if faster would've meant "alive" at the end.

It was fun, but I think a little on the long side. It was like my car was in a 2 hour race, I need an oil change BAD!

It was still loads of fun. my tires are so beat = good time.

haha, I was thinking during the drive - man, we must be one of the few official car clubs that goes out in packs and deliberately wind through middle of nowhere streets going as fast as we can :D 80mph+

lol, yeah, that was weird, I think they knew :) It was one of those portable ones too, stiffer than they look.

Yeah. i would be hopin' that the po po dont ever get a copy of your fun run directions. It would be asking for a road block/speed trap.

speedbump? there was a speed bump somewhere? must of just driven over it at 80mph not paying attention..the fun run was wild..just really tiring after our drive down...sick roads though.

I didnt mind the length of the drive. I was mad tired driving home yesterday. I followed Craig almost all the way to final destination. Hey does anybody know Gill or where he lives or anything. I dont even know his Forum name but I think he's got one of my radios. He has the yellow MSP that met us at Exit 1

Yeah the fun run was longer than expected because (a) we didn't leave until around 4 because people weren't lining up (b) getting separated right after crossing into PA and (c) the pit stop at the gas station.

But it wasn't too bad...but yes I can understand people being mad tired...many many hours of driving in a weekend gets tiring.

And again, I appreciate the great turnout...I know a lot of you drove from pretty damn far to get to the meet...and your presence was greatly appreciated.

The cruise was cool, I guess it's tricky to coordinate so many people through some very narrow side roads. The only shame is that many people had already left the meet by the time we got back.

I guess it's hard to coordinate with 73 cars!!! that's gotta be a record, right?

It's a record for the East Coast. And if ProtegeFest in California wouldn't have happened, it would have been a record for the nation.

lol, ok

"I think the final count of people was 250ish and 100 cars not including vendors and the cars they brought."

We're still respectable.

Yeah I was just going to post that. And those numbers were with much more time to plan the event than the 3 months spent planning for this meet.

Next year's event should be much larger, we will begin planning it this summer. I am also strongly considering following the ProtegeFest model, and renting out a track for the day. Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ has a 1/4 mile track, an 1/8th mile track, and they're building a road course that should most definitely be completed by next spring. And there won't be any cities to drive through to get to anywhere....to get to E-town, once you get off of I-95 / NJ Turnpike, it's only a 20 minute or so ride to the track, and it's all through the country.

That means that there's gonna be an admission fee, but I don't think people will have a problem. It would also attract vendors to the meet, and it shouldn't be hard to get MNAO support as well.

Of course this is just an idea I'm toying with, I gotta see exactly what would be required to pull off something like this.

And believe me...there wouldn't be any problems with traffic or anything. Raceway Park is in the middle of nowhere.

I just had a hard time reading the fun run directions going 85 mph. I was in the lead and I saw we were regrouping at 202 so I ended up getting to 202 but at a wayyyy diffferent spot.
Getting to the meet was really no problem. NEPOC needs to pull something off big too. If we host I'm sure there will be kegs :D

Greg dropped the ball, man (dark)

:D

NEPOC's gotta get moving on the Kent meet, if that stuff is to happen in may we gotta get moving on it. RIU is 21/22, so that's kind of a meet

Yeah RIU is going to be our first big meet we should make sure we get lots of people going on that and the cape cod run afterwards
