Neo iOn or PIE

Hi,

What do you think of the following setup:

- iPod Nano
- PIE MAZ/PC-ALP
- PIE ALP/M-3.5M
- Ten FlexDock

This setup will set me back $140.

I was thinking of the Neo iOn, but that's $220.

I want to be able to control my music selection via my iPod primarily. Volume and next/previous track can be car controlled.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I'd say Neo Ion no question. Steering wheel controls kick ass.

I guess the PIE would not allow any control whatsoever using the radio/steering wheel since the AUX input is just to get the audio from the ipod (all controls, including volume control, come from using the iPod, right?).

The nice thing about the PIE though is you can use any other device as well (a bit of flexibility there).

So besides the steering wheel controls, anything else you feel puts it on top? Is sound quality any different when comparing the two?

I'm new to all of this, so I'm a bit confused about all my options :)

Thanks,
Leo

The neo charges the ipod all the time, or I think it has an option to do so for 2 hours after the ignition shuts off.

The other charger you mentioned plugs into the cig lighter, which is only powered on with the ignition.

Sound quality is probably the same.

When you turn the ignition/deck off, the Neo pauses the ipod, and resumes right where you left off, automatically

Thanks for the info! :D

So both options do not interfere with the oem stereo? I thought I heard that with one of them, you have to turn off and then on your car to get the CD player to work again.

cheapest and best integrated solution for an auxiliary input... Sylfex AuxMod Basic. $60.

you will find it here http://www.sylfex.com/products/AuxMod/

works great, installs in minutes and does not interfere with anything since it simulates the OE cassette deck and uses the TAPE button on the radio to play. Got mine a few months ago and would definitely buy again.

i dopnt think i have a tape button....

From what I can tell, it's been replaced with a media button in the 2006. Same functionality as far as I can tell though. I'll be installing my auxmod later tonight in my 2006, hopefully at least.

thanks for the slyfex automod basic link! I might try that out on my p5...

So which is better? The slyfex is never in stock and doesnt have a charger from what I have seen.
