NEMOC Random BS Thread

So I just looked at the distance from the GA job to racetracks... 6 Hrs to VIR, 7 hrs to Daytona, 1 hr to Atlanta, 10 hrs to Mid-Ohio, and 16 hrs to LRP (boo!)....

So my sister just trader her 1993 Civic CX (not directly) for a 1988 Audi 80 Quattro 2.3L 10V inline 5 with 200K miles and a locking rear diff. One owner. Sale price $1000. Gonna be a fun ride... in all senses...
I almost bought one of those. Nice little car for the time. I still oggle over the Coupe Quattros between 89-91.

I'm just hoping I can make 1 final NEPOC meet before I have to go. I put down my start date as 25 Oct, but I can start as late as after Thanksgiving... Who knows.

Bleh... I just got another offer for a job in Yuma, AZ for more money, but it's a supervisory job and not a technician job. I think I'll have to look at it more tomorrow and see if it's worth it. Ultimately, it will come down to doing what I want and love vs something that close but for more money.

How the hell do you all deal with this?!

I wouldn't know, a year and can't find any jobs.

Happy Friday All! Looks like a great weekend weather wise.

so am I allowed to start a thread with my truck build even though its a non mazda in the NEPOC section? ordering FJ springs this weekend. 1" lift in the rear and a 2.5" loft int he front when matched with bilstien 5100 shocks. 'Levels' the truck out.

Nice Luke. Of course start a thread.

Just finished my next interview and it went really well. I just got off the phone with the person who hooked me up with the job told me the person who just interviewed me will be my future boss if I get the job.

Talk about making a good first impression. Hahahaha.

couldn't turn this deal down though, so excited!!!!

Sorry in one way but congrats

Yo! So I see you have some job opportunities ahead of you eh?

Yep.

I just finished my last on call for the Navy and it was a totally easy day.

I suppose I'll spill the beans, but I don't want to get to ahead of myself. I applied for a job at Honeywell in their Process Solution department as a Project Specialist/Technician. The job entails planning, installing, and testing various systems that they provide. The pay is a bit less than what I make now, but the fact that it's in Georgia and the cost of living there is a lot lower than here makes it very comparable. The first year will be an orientation type where I'll be in various places learning.. (Houston, Cincinnati, Vancouver B.C., Georgia, etc..) The job also requires a lot of travel, but I don't mind that at all. I explained to them about being on a submarine and having to go out to sea on short notice and I like seeing new places.

All the feedback I've received so far from the hiring firm I went with and from the phone interviewers themselves has been nothing but positive. The one today, who I found out after would be my boss, said that "between my resume and talking with me on the phone, I am a perfect fit for what they are looking for."

Very cool man. We've done business with Honeywell in the past, but not a lot recently. Definitely a reputable company.

Good morning everyone! (yes, I know it's 1pm but when you work 3rd shift it's "the morning" until at least 5pm)

Thinking about doing this mod to my truck...what do you guys think? Luke, this might be good for your 4Runner too!
