NEMOC Random BS Thread

I really like that last picture Bruce! Very nice! Were you the only black hard top there? ;)

Yup. Haven't seen anyone else in the US. Got the idea from someone in Japan, he did his with a carbon fiber look. Everyone thought it was painted. Took another look when I said it was a vinyl wrap.

Ah, Bruce with his own kind and age group. ;)

Looks like a ton of fun minus the heat.

Heat was a killer, 115 with the humidex. Sweat even in the shade.

Really?

It must be the pics. I can spot a few 1st gens, but mostly NB's and NC's.

Not every Miata was in the pics. Lots were out and about.

Best story was a guy from Toronto. His AC failed on the way down in his MSM, then the power steering went. Felt bad for him.

Sure he wasn't from Ohio? Cuz that kinda bad luck sounds like a certain member on here who keeps crashing his car :p

Car is fixed, waiting to get picked up to go get it...AC is going to be fixed once I put the longer belt back on, yay! And I'm going to replace the rear sway bar bushings and it won't make funny sounds.

I saw that...

Nice Ash.

Also covered about 2,400 miles in 5 days. Shortest was 173 on Saturday. Just changed the oil and rotated the tires before I left, will have to do it again soon. Car held up very well, AC was a blessing as was the insulated top. Even with the heat, the roof inside was cool to the touch.

Best MPG was 36, worst was Sat, 26. Couple of 32's as well. I love this car.

5 days? Try doing it in 4 :p

So, what a day from hell. Got the car back, picked up some bushings at Autozone, was on the highway (rt 8) heading home doing around 70 in the right lane when my tire blew out, one of the ones I just bought and had the shop put on.

I am grateful for several things:
1- AAA
2- an AWESOME mechanic (no sarcasm there, he went above and beyond)
3- an awesome friend who brought me iced coffee when I was stuck on the road waiting for the tow truck (granted he's the one I bought the tires from)

So, got the car towed back to the shop, mechanic let me take his wifes car to my house to pick up that 3rd spare tire I bought, got it on the wheel, good to go.

Car drives like new. AND I'm glad I had the new suspension when the tire blew, otherwise you would've read about a car that careened off the highway. I didn't really notice anything wrong with the car besides the left front being lower, and the thumping sound.

Here's the tire that blew:

Don (the mechanic, owner of Long's Auto in Collinsville (thumb)) said he's never seen anything like this is his rather long career.

Anyway, here's the car right now:

Tomorrow: new belt, new sway bushings, hub rings and family back from CA.

Car looks awesome, Ashley! Good that the tire low out was controllable and you had a spare.

Thanks :D

Was just out there, backed it into the garage and debated doing the bushings. Decided not to and put it back on the driveway, too tired tonight lol. Did stare at it a bit, and reaffirmed how much I love my car.

Didn't hurt that the mechanics like my car, mostly because they don't have to do the hard stuff. Mentioned how much it feels like a race car now haha.

Hey Josh the printing company called today about the display being done.. going to pick it up tomorrow if i can.. although its a week behind when they were supposed to be done im excited to see it.:)
