Anyone want to help me with my rear brakes? I have to try to get the rear drivers side caliper off. Not sure how it is going to go.

Just saw a Smart car with front/rear brush guards. You know, the big bars you put on SUVs. Yea...um...ok?

Looked like this.

So remember the talk about sump pumps and how I said I didnt need mine anymore? Well guess what, WE ARE TAKING ON WATER!!! My perimiter drains that lead out to the back of my yard were CLOGGGGGEEEEDDDD!! So I was just outside with a hose and was pushing it through the pipe to clear it out. FUN!!! Time for some Twisted Tea and vodka!

Were you able to get it cleaned out?

My basement weeps down the walls from slight cracks that needs to be fixed. But with all the water lately that makes that difficult. I will be digging a french drain around the house this summer too.

So I currently have about 1-2" of standing water in my dining room and living room. Most of my furniture is in my bedroom right now because of the water issues. No damage to any furniture, but I'll be staying at a friend's place for a few days.

The apartment complex is going to rip up the carpet and put down new carpet. The funny thing is, I already had new carpet when I moved in.

From what I heard, Mohegan Sun is shut down and they're under some water. The roads near me are shut down for standing water as well. Even the base was shut down because of buildings starting to have water up to electrical equipment! There are a few cars in some decent amount of standing water on base too.

As for the buyback of a flooding 3.. Don't even bother unless you plan on parting some things out. Flood damage wrecks electrical systems and such.

Yea I have been scooping water out for the last hour and it is till coming into the house from the sump hole, Going to my brother in laws to get his pump that we use for the pool cover, that should help

Chris, when they put in the new carpet make sure they get everything COMPLETELY dry before the new stuff goes down. Put some fans out if you have to. Last thing you want is mold growing in the new carpet (or the sub-floor).

I've been on mold inspection jobs where offices have been flooded and they just "rip-n-layed" without drying properly and their new carpet was loaded with mold.

What about your walls? Are they going to replace the bottom ~3 inches of your sheetrock as well? They should...it's flood damage and no matter how much you dry out sheetrock you'll have problems down the road (either mold growth or soft spots/holes)

Actually, the carpet is ripped up, pad is gone, and they have a floor air dryer (big fan) ready. The floor is concrete because most of my apartment is underground.

I'm not worried because if I do run into a mold/mildew problem, I'll just break lease and move somewhere else for the next 6 months.

Also, if that does happen can you come inspect my place to say it's unfit to live in? lolol (nana)
