NEMOC Random BS Thread

I'd skip buying a TV right now, unless you really need one. I've been following all the latest news in 3D TV. Full programming is only a few years out. It's going to kick ass. Soon we won't even need to use the special glasses.

Unfortunately I have been holding out and the Tube TV I have is on the way out. Started going blank, changing colors and the volume goes up and down this month. It's not going to make it much longer :(

Gary, you don't need any special brake caliper paint. I've been using small cans of Rust-Oleum for years and have never had issues with chipping and such. Easy brush on application. Plus you have a much wider range of color choices.

Oh, right. I remember that TV. Then I say get something that will satisfy your need. ;)

Anyone here a TV guru?
I'm looking at this 47" Vizio LED LCD TV.

http://www.vizio.com/flat-panel-hdtvs/sv472xvt.html

I found it for $1,299 and can't seem to find anything comparable.

Thoughts?

led lcd are sick. the only problem is its an lcd. lcd's have problems with ghosting and smearing with fast motion. try getting a panasonic plasma. i got a 50 incher for 1500 with a wall mount and high speed (1000x) hd cable. tv was like 1200 i think. check the models though. the best model for you buck would be the s1 model. the u1 is not that good and only about 100 less. while the g10 series is thx certified its like 3-400 more. any other questions dont hesitate to ask. i just bought a tv so i went through this already for abotu a month.

oh and if its in a bright room buy an lcd. they have brighter brights and can withstand sun glare better than the glass front plasma which reflects a lot more. if its in a dark room plasma will kill an lcd in any picture. plus the plasma tvs arent like they used to be with life span. they will last if not outlast any lcd tv's bulb. (lcd bulbs may be able to be replaced but honestly....thats like 10 years....if it lasts 10 years id say your in for a new tv anyway.) lcds are much more expensive too because they cost more to make than plasma. so plasma ftw!

How could you miss it. It takes up half my living room.

I was looking at 37" LCD, but for only a couple hundred bucks more this one seems like a much better TV.

The room is realy bright 90% of the day. Two huge windows have sun in them all afternoon. Thats why I was looking at LED LCD.
