NEMOC Random BS Thread

...and Boston was the best place to fly into? That's a long drive. What time will you be heading up I-93 tonight? If you're reaching the NH border around dinner time I can meet you for a bite to eat. I'm still game for dinner tomorrow though if you just want to power through that drive. I've done it before, cruise control is your friend.

I just landed. Getting my car now. Shoot me a PM

Just met Phen for dinner in Londonderry on his way to Gorham. I gave him directions for Bear Notch / Kancamangus on the way home. It'll add 45 minutes to his ride home but I told him its worth it, comparable to Tail of the Dragon. He's got a Chevy Camaro V6 (300hp) rental car so at least it'll be something fun to drive.

He's not sure what time he'll be able to head home tomorrow but he's hoping to leave around 2:00 which could put him near Boston around 5:00-6:00. What's the best place for everyone else to meet? I can do anything along 128 after 5:00PM. Phen doesn't fly out until Friday morning so I think he's flexible, provided he can leave Gorham at 2:00.

i'm out, i've got too much to do on the home front before i leave tomorrow for the glen....sorry guys/gals...phen, see you in ny sat?

Hey all. Have fun at the Glen! Summer is here, so I'm out a lot more these days. Don't check up on forums much anymore. I do miss the crew. Thinking of having a summer NEMOC/RX-8 Club bash at my house soon.

I'm going to be finishing up at site soon. If anyone is still up for dinner, shoot me a PM. I actually have good service out here.

Those of you that remember when I took delivery, my front plate was on crooked. Well now with the new bracket its too high and I ordered a relocation bracket, took the original off and now have this to look at....

So I wrote to the GM at North End Mazda and we will see what happens. I am not happy FOUR HOLES and two little pucks at the bottom!!

Oh man, I'd love to have that. ...but a bit pricey.

Tony, you probably don't want them to do anything about it unless its free oil changes or something. If they fix them and repaint the bumper it will hurt the resale value of the car more than just hiding the holes with a license plate.

Phen/Chris, I texted Phen. My house is right off 93, not sure where you're heading. I know a few places around here that are decent.

my response from the General Manager at North End:

"Anthony,

You are 100 percent correct, thIs Is not acceptable. I am off on FrIday, but I wIll call you and set up a tIme for you to drop off your car. My guess, Is we wIll need to replace the bumper, and If that Is what It takes, I can promIse you It wIll get done. I am sorry the car was delIvered to you lIke thIs. Its not what I condone, nor do I accept anythIng but 100 percent satIsfactIon. Once I am back to work on Saturday, I can show my General Sales manager, and my servIce dept, and they wIll advIse me on what we need to do to make thIs 100 percent rIght. Once I speak to them I wIll personally call you, and set up a free loaner car for you to drIve, whIle we correct thIs error. Please accept my sIncere apologIes, and I am thankful that you have brought It to my attentIon, and are gIvIng me the opportunIty to make thIs rIght. I apprecIate your busIness, and look forward to talkIng to you on Saturday."

what do you guys think?

If the bumper comes painted from the factory...go for it. Ask politely if you can keep the old bumper (you know, just in case something happens down the road). If they're going to get a primered bumper and paint it themselves, I think it will hurt the value of the car more than just keeping the license plate over the double holes.

When my MS6 was painted, they did a good job, too good. The new paint had less orange peel than the factory paint so the keen eye could tell the difference. The metal flake was done right but it just isn't exactly the same.
