Needing new brakes

Squeeks!

The car only does it when I am coming to a rolling stop and applying the brake. I get a squealing noise when I back out of my driveway which is a steep incline. When I am stopping I don't hear any noise until the car is almost completely stopped and then I hear the scrubbing noise coming from the rear passenger side brake. There is a line on the rotor so something is sticking out on the pads I would think.

Wraunch, A line on the rotor does not mean something is sticking - it could be a metal particle in the semi-metallic brake pads and it is wearing a little more from it. Unless it is really deep - noting to worry about. I really think all you need to do is lube the backs of your pads and the tabs then reassemble. Another issue might be rust, it develops on the outer most part of the brake disk and when the pad wears down it hits the rust and causes a scraping noise - this is solved by sanding your disk a little with sandpaper.

I attached a picture of the rear pads - put synthetic grease on the pads as indicated.

Cheers!

Peter
