Need to replace battery

My 2008 battery is no longer working very well so I'm looking to replace it. Does anyone know what size should be purchased ? Also, is there a write-up or docs anywhere of how to replace it ? Disconnecting it is easy enough, but is there an easy way to get it out ?

Thanks!

Depending on how much you want to spend; you have a couple options.

Theres dry cell batteries, these are supposedly more reliable and last longer than a standard lead acid battery. They can range from $200 to $500.

Heres a example of one that would work.

If youre looking to go with a traditional battery this would work as well.

I personally do not have any experience with dry cell batteries. I have a couple friends that swear by them. The lead acid batteries are just as good in my opinion. As long as you keep a eye on the fluid level and keep everything clean.

Our 2nd car is pushing 9 years old; about once a year I top off the cells with distilled water and have not had any problems. (Still on the original battery)

A well maintained led acid battery should last 8 to 10 years or longer.

As for disconnecting the battery just be sure to disconnect the negative terminal first.

And of course you will need to remove the bracket securing the battery. Removal is fairly straight forward.

i'm *pretty* sure that the battery in the cx7 is not servicable. in other words, i dont think you can just top it off like in the old days.

I went to WalMarts and got their 3 year warranted Maxx battery for my CX7. No cost for them to check your battery & charging system and install the new battery.

On my 2011 it is. Checked it out for the hell of it.

Surprisingly most lead acid batteries that come in new cars are serviceable.
