Just got a 2006 3 from someone and the front licence plate is not straight. Turns out, it is only held on by tie wraps. How does this mount? Are their nuts inside the bumper that I have to somehow find? If so, what size screw is it? I have the bracket, just need to mount it more perminantly before it falls off.

I hate to tell you this, but you are going to have to drill holes in your bumper to mount the holder. All cars that come with the bumper mounts attached from the dealer are just attached by drilling holes in the bumper and using screws or bolts to attach it. The other option that you could do is get a CPE Tow Plate Mount. You take out the cover in the bumper for the tow hook and the plate holder mounts into the tow hook hole. Do a google search for it.

Thanks, kind of figured I'd have to drill holes. Is there something on the back side of the bumper that I am drilling into? In other words, is there somewhere special that I need to put the holes or is it where ever it looks good?

u could do the cp-e one or one by rho that i have...i used to have my plate mounted in my bottom grill and i had blk zip ties holdin it up

Thankfully the front plate is not required where I am but my car has little dimples in the bumper which tells me where to drill if I needed to. As for what is behind it, I don't know.

get the cp-e towplate! its currently on sale :)

it screws into the mount for your tow hook
