Need to get spot on rim off PLEASE HELP

Ok guys, I was cleaning my rims today and I must of run of something. There is a spot on my stock rim that did not come off with the tire cleaner I had. If anyone knows what kind of product will remove the spot or where I can take it to get it fixed I would love to know. Also, in awhile I would like to buy new rims. I have a black protege so I was curious to know if you guys liked BLACK ON BLACK, WHITE ON BLACK, SILVER ON BLACK, OR CHROME ON BLACK...please help me on both my problems!

I'm sure I'll be the minority, but I think chrome rims look killer with black.

Did you try metal polish to get out the spot on your rim? It might just work!

I am with Eggy on the look....I just LOVE a shiney wheel....but you will find that chrome wheels are HEAVY!!....however....polished ones are NOT...in fact...they are lighter than their painted counterparts....not much...but still. :{D

all the stock wheels are either powdercoated silver or clear...be careful what kinds of cleaners you use on them as some can and will hurt the finish. What is this SPOT from?

SirNuke,

Yesterday, I got out of school and I saw that there was a spot on the rim. At first I thought it was coke so I was like I'll wash it off when I get home. Come to find out, it wasnt coke and it wont come off. I even tried scrubbing it with a soft brush...still didnt work....so I am not sure what it is. It is like a light brownish color spot

the only suggestion I will make then is to go to a parts store and buy some wheel cleaner which is designed for coated/painted wheels and have a go at it that way.....
