Need some help with Brake problem

get a couple set of jack stands or some blocks and raise it up and get all the wheels off and do 'em all one by one at one wack.....and it'll save ya time

I am pretty certain that the e-brake has its own caliper on the Protege. Can anyone confirm this?

why can't you get the lugs off??too tight? do you have a breaker bar and a piece of pipe??

Yea it was extra tight. My big bro was jumping on the wrench and it wouldn't budge. I don't have a breaker bar, I really need to invest in 1 (along with some good vice grips) but I'll try and stick a pipe in the end of the wrench.

I did bleed the Rear driver side though (the side I changed the caliper). I've driven about 10 miles so far, and no problems. The car brakes fine. The only issue is the E-brake.

I think I probably replaced the whole e-brake assembly incorrectly. When you remove the caliper, the little hook that the E-brake attaches to is connected to the caliper. I put the hook back, but it's adjustable and it's hard to determine what position it should exactly be in. I tried it one way, than tried another way when I bled the fluid and it's the same problem.

If i take apart the E-brake handle and tighten the nut inside car, will that solve the problem? Or is that just going around the real problem and it's going to be a bigger problem later?

The E-brake works a little, but just not like it used to. The main issue is I drive stick, so when my car is idle and i don't want to shut it off, I need the E-brake.

Thanks a lot for the help.

and not the ebrake uses the reg piston.....which is why if you change your own rear pads you have to twist the piston in, not just push it in like the fronts.....

just use the adjusting nut....i know i'm gonna have to before my next inspection....it's starting not to hold on inclines
