Need some advice

I am new to rotary engines. I have just found today a 1980 mazda rx-7 with a 117000 miles on the engine. I need some opinions on whether this is worth my time and money or if this is just going to crap out on me.

well, all things considered, any 30 year old car could just crap out on you. rotary is really not any different. look for the same things you would on any car and go from there. watch for oil leaks, power issues, grinding gears, leaks in the rear-end, etc.

We looked at it today. It doesn't leak oil doesn't grind gears either. Is there anything I need to look at on the engine common issues?

Compression test for sure, and check out the rear tire wells for rust
