need photo of P5 with sound system

Sorry for not responding to the questions/comments about my sub enclosure... I've been away for the last few days.

MYNDFI3LD - It's a 10" Infinity Reference Sub... More than enough to get a full range of sound out of your system. It's not the big bass hitter, but a single 10" (of good quality & a good amp) will supply more than enough bass to give you a great sounding system (plus it doesn't take up that much space).

bonesmp5 - Thanks for the pat on the back... I loved going through the process of building my own sub enclosure out of fiberglass (I've built some boxes out of MDF (wood), but B4 this, I had never even touched fiberglass.) It was frustrating at times, but well worth the effort... even thought it's not perfect, it's always nice to say that I did the job myself.

By the way... I didn't come up w/ the details of the enclosure construction. I followed a How-to by hihoslva on this forum (I want to give credit where credit is due). The webpage for the tutorial is not up at this time, but it says it will return shortly. Here's the link just in case it comes back up:

nice the howto is down right now.. and i've never done anything with fiberglass before.. but anyways I think I might do this. I bet the same could be done on the other side to have a recessed mount for an amp. It'd be cool if a big company out there sold replacement plastic panels for trunks that had sub and amp enclosures built in to them.

second pic is the ghetto system i made up for under $1000
first pic is my real system which is still ghetto

Yeh, I really wish the fiberglass tutorial was still up and running. It was a great how-to w/ great detail. I have some webspace available... maybe I'll contact hihoslva and see if he's interested in having me host the how-to. But that all depends on the interest of P5 owners, and if it would be worth posting it. I don't want to use up my web space if nobody's interested in doing this for their cars. Personally, I think it's a great investment in time and money to get a great sounding system w/o taking up much of the space that we P5 owners have been given. Maybe, I'll start a thread to gauge interest... let me know what you think.

MYNDFI3LD - "I bet the same could be done on the other side to have a recessed mount for an amp." ... I bet this could be done. I may even tackle the challenge to try and do this. Right now, both of my amps are mounted under the driver and passenger side seats... not very impressive, huh? It'd be cool to, at least, display the amp for the sub.

how many cubic feet is that box?

About 1 cubic foot I believe. Can't be exactly sure, but it is close enough to the recomended for the sub.

Rider - How did you come by that link for the fiberglass tutorial?... that's the exact one that I followed. That's cool, because now I don't have to use up any of my webspace to host.

Kandyman - Sorry, but I don't know how many cubic feet the enclosure is. I wasn't really worried about the amount of airspace because the speaker only needs 0.75 cubic feet of air space in a sealed box (I knew that I had that... and now that it's in, I can tell you that the lows are really tight).

I've seen that one before...

His seats look like they belong in an X-Wing...and he obviously didn't plan ahead as to how thick the floor was going to be because looks choppy next to the subs.

But other than that, its a very nice install.

Attached is another picture that I saved...

well i dont have a pic of this but i was talking to my local audio shop and they said that they do custom work and told me that they could take the spare tire out of the trunk and build a custom enclosure to fit in there and then mount a 8 or 10 inch sub in there without obtruding into the trunk
