if u kno how to weld, and with a little common sense.. U can probly get the frame to break apart into as many parts as u want, and for that the only word i can sya is, TRIANGLULATION!
As for the fiber glass, i work with that stuff around the house a lot cuz we just put up a machine in the garage that can create molds for us.
IMO fiberglass is highly over rated ;P
Id prefer to go with plexy glass as much as i could bcuz its probably going to be much stronger incase u drop it or what not. fiberglass cant take any pressure at all.
and not to mention u can pick up a hefty slab for not too much and custom fit it to anything w/ a saws-all.
plexy is my ductape. ;P
i dont really kno a whole lot about fiberglass cuz i dont really care, but when we do it.
it takes about a day depending on how complicated the mold is, a day for a flat surface tho.
But they way we make fiberglass we lay in stuff to make it stronger, which kinda looks like little metal mesh.
anyways what im getting to is that ive never done it myself and had it turn out truely clear.
im only 16 tho so im not really big on "How to make fiberglass"
im sure theres someway to do it, but i didnt kno ;P
i still thing plexy would b better ;P

we also weld alot and im not sure where most of the stuff we get comes from but i remember that we got some s*** off ebay, lol.
As for writing on top, if u used plexy u could stencil w/e u want to put on there, and then id crop the pictures down to b exactly what i wanted them to, and lay them in some kind of frame.
like simple sheet metal, and bolt it down at the corners, thats also pretty inexpensive to do and shouldnt take u very long to make. Or if u really like that diamon plate idea u could use that for frames on the pictures ;P
