Mazda "Blue" Mp3
When i got home tonight, something told me to check my oil level, well i checked and i was damn near dry.Where it says low on the dipstick, i was right below the L. I change my oil every 2,000 miles with Mobile 5w-30, i have a mp3, i dont have any leaks, that i can notice, what is the problem? I dont know if i can take it back to the dealership because of the stuff that i added to the car, camshafts, CAI, Exhaust , what could cause my 2001 Mp3 to do this.It only has 26,000 miles on it.
Plus i notice that it gets really hot, even when it sits for about 1hr, i barely can touch the upper radiator hose, is this normal?
Thanks for the input.

man sounds like you've burnt out a piston ring or something, esp if there is no leaks.....that's my guess if i had to pick one thing...probably why the car gets so hot as well (a lot of friction between the piston and cylinder.

does you car blow much blue smoke?

i dont burn alot of smoke, if not at all, i put about half a quart in last night, and i checked it today and it is about the same. I think when i checked the oil i checked it to fast, and didnt let all of it go back down to the oil pan. LOL!!! I'll keep an eye out on that piston ring, how is something like that fixable, should it still be covered under warranty?

you could always try under warranty, but i'm sure once they see you've got mods they'll tell you off...

i really cant see any other way you're loosing so much oil with no leaks. you'd have to be burning it. there is simply no other way

i havnt noticed any power loss, what could have caused a burned piston ring?
I just think i checked it to quickly, but i'll look again tomm. Thanks alot guys for all the info

could be many things ranging from a bit of sh!t (like metal) in the fuel getting into the engine (unlikely, but it does happen), wears a mark in the cylinder wall and goes from there....ranging to running lean and the xs heat expands the piston too much etc
