For those of you that own the Mazdaspeed CAI, I recently had to clean my intake (nasty rain water got it clogged up) and used up the two bottles of cleaner solution it came with. From what I understand, the mazdaspeed intake is just a rebranded AEM intake. If that is correct, can I use the cleaning solution from AEM to clean the filter? I haven't checked Mazda's price on it yet but I'm pretty sure I can get it from AEM cheaper, if its the same stuff. Thanks!

is it a dry filter? just use mild soap and water bro.

if you really want the real stuff, than yes the AEM cleaner would be just as good.

Thanks man, I tried calling AEM, no answer, had to leave a message, tried calling Mazda for a price on their stuff... they told me they had to call someone else and they would get back to me, haven't heard from them yet. They guy acted like I just asked him the most technical question ever, he just got stumped!!!

hahah! sounds like a mazda tech lmao. but ya i have even cleaned oiled filters, k&n to be specific, with just mild soap and water. and an extra good rinse.

it works pretty good for getting it clean. i actually get a spray bottle and put warm(definitely not hot!) water and soap in it. shake it. spray it. let it soak for 5-10 minutes. rinse it. repeat if not clean enough to meet your desires ;)
