I was planning on doing what i thought was an easy wiring upgrade, "Big 3"

Have a 2004 mazda 6s, and it looks like the alternator doesnt run a 6 or 8 gauge wire to the battery, it looks like it has a wire harness that connects to it... is that true?

So how would I replace/upgrade the wire running from the alternator to the battery?

use a multimeter, find the wire that connects the alt to the battery, and bypass it.

But how do i attach the wire to the alternator? It looks as though the powerwire that comes out of the alternator attaches via wire harness. Can i just take my new wire and attach it to any of the bolts on it?
