As you might recalled, I been trying to track down the correct lug nut used on the MSP Racing Hart rims. Some shops are telling me conical lug nut and others are say mag(shank) lug nuts. Can someone please take off one lug and confirm which it is. I cant stand one more summer day with this winter tires and rims.

Oh by the way, Dworkin Mazda is no longer a mazdaspeed dealer. As seems to be the theme with the rest of the nearby dealers. They say the yearly costs to carry the cars is skyrocketing. WTF?

Anyways, any help would be great!

I believe it's a shank lug.

All these messages about changing brake pads, etc. and nobody else can answer this from personal experience.

You seen the lugs.....bueller?

It's the same as any other mazda protege, mazda6, mazda3, 626, etc.

I have two spare lug nuts, I could probably send you one. You just need one?

I appreciate the offer. Unfortunately, if I do need lugs, I need a full 20.

Since you have a spare one, is it shape as an acorn? Or is it a lug with an extension at the base, aka shank

It's a shank lug...I rotate my own tires. Definitely a shank. Soryy, I should have been more confident-sounding in my first post.

Interesting...my mechanic put on regular acorn lugs today. I am a little nervous about driving now...

any pics? i will post what i think is a shank later tonight.

well, I would say they look more like acorns man, they are cone shaped towards the studs. maybe i can take a pic of one of mine later tonight.

I swear they looked like shanks to me.

Edit: HOWEVER, they didn't look as long as most shank lugs, Definitely longer than an acorn lug. Oh hell, now I'm doubting myself...ignore me!
