Missing my Protege

I was looking at the Konig Absolute and noticed that the 17x7 only come in a 40mm offset. I have a 2001 Protege LX. Now I beleive that they will rub with the 2 inch drop of the Spool springs I have but even if it doesn't I dont want to take the chance. I was wondering if there is any way that I can have somebody change the offset to at least a 42mm. Is it possible, and if so how much?

Actually with the sedan, which you have....a +40mm offset will work...as long as you are only running 205/40/17's......sure, an extra 2 or 3 mm of extra clearance would be nice...not to mention it would allow you to run 215's if you liked.

I am planning on running 205/40/17's, but I'm worried it will rub with the 2" drop. Is anybody sure it won't rub with this size tire?

According to Rishie, our EXPERT...seeing has how he has his own suspension/wheel/tire shop.....and drives pro's....the +40 will work for you if you stick with the 205's.....if you want to be ABSOLUTELY sure, or want to hear it from him first hand.......give him a call at his shop and talk to him personally....you will find his shops phone number at the bottom of the first post in the stickied thread at the begining of this forum...the thread title is

RISHIE'S FITMENT RECIPE.
