2003 Mazda Protege5
Hi there,

I recently purchased a 2003 Mazda Protege5 as a second car and for the most part I intend on leaving is completely stock. However, I do have someone in my area who is currently selling some 05 Mazda 3 Stock 17" rims with 205/50/17 tires for a great price. I searched the forum and this topic has come up but there seems to be no definitive answer to the following question.........

Would 05 Mazda 3 Stock 17" rims with 205/50/17 tires, fit a stock setup 2003 Mazda P5?

Remember, it's a totally stock setup so I would appreciate answers relative to the question above. A lot of the other posts within similar threads had people posting about these rims and tires on modified suspension, lowering springs or just wanting to state what setup they had. I just need someone who has or had this setup, tell me if I'II be looking at any clearance issues.

That's all folks! Appreciate what ever guidance can be provided.

Cheers,

Your original tires (195/45/16) diameter is 23.7" (602mm)
a 17-inch + size would be 205/45/17 at 24.3" (617mm) in diameter (fairly close to OEM). If you went with the 205/50/17s,
your tire diameter would be about 25.7" (653mm)- about 2" (51mm) larger in diameter and 10mm wider.

2 inches in diameter is quite a bit, so the only way to definitively tell if that tire/wheel size will work is to mount them on your car.

Thanks for the info, just noticed I posted in the wrong section like a noob! (headshake
