My belt randomly will slip off one notch so that its slightly hanging over the pulley, just on the top pulley. The belt doesnt seem worn down to me that much... the car has 52k miles on it and the last time the belt slipped off one notch I was able to manually lift it back up and slip it back into place while the car was running. I think I used a prybar and just pushed it back into its slot.

I either want to replace it or just tighten it some, but I am unsure of how I need to do this. Any info would be nice...

thanks.

It's not a surpentine belt, it's the accesories drive belt. You probably just need to tighten the slack in the tensioner. I don't remember where but there is a tensioner on the P/S pump I believe. I have been working on a lot of cars this week and am realy lost right now. By the way I hate Expeditions right now.

Do you still have stock motor mounts? Reason I ask is cuz I had the exact same problem around the same amount of mileage. My mounts were going bad. Causing the motor to move around which would cause the belt to loose tension for a second and it would keep jumping off. Mazda said it was cuz the belt was worn. They replaced it and it still happened. So I put some SU front and back mounts in and there ya go. No more problem.
