1991 Mazda 626 LX 5 speed
What's up, we own a 1991 Mazda 626 LX 5 speed like the title says, we want to swap out the engine and get a better one, I was wondering if swaping out and in engines for this mazda it's harder than doing a honda swap, and what's available out there that u won't have to make any mods to be able to do a swap to this mazda. Only reason i want to keep this car it's because i want to have a decent quick car that a lot of ppl don't have already, I want something unique so that's why i haven't sold it to get something else, let me know people thanks.

i assume you have the 2.2L four cylinder? You can swap in a 2.2 turbo engine from a first generation ford probe or mx6 and make some good power from it

ok, this is what's going on, i'm going to forget about the swap for a while.
where could I find a nice cool air intake that would fit my car, a nice short shifter and shitf knob, headers, cat back exhaust system..... help plz on parts like this for my car thanks

Save the money. It's not worth it to try to massage any more power out of the F2. Gains would be minimal, and more than likely, psychological more than anything. We had a member on MX6.Com buy just about every bolt-on and then some for his MX6 LX, and in the end, he only managed a 15.6 in the quarter, about as fast as a stock MX6 GT.

My advice: Save your money and buy a 626 GT or MX6 GT. They're inexpensive and make good "beginner" turbo cars. I actually just picked up a 89 626 GT for my girlfriend to play with, and it only cost $1,000.00.
