Need a Tire Recommendation

look into a 255/55/18, lots more tire choices. i have the Nitto NT 420 S and so do a bunch of other cx-7 owners. they're wider and more agressive. i highly recommend them. i got mine through a friend for $130 each and free shipping. i've driven through everything but snow so far and love them.

I'm very happy after 30,000 miles on my Kumho Advantage KL51. Seem to have very good wet & dry traction but, I have no opinion on snow. Vary good tire for the money. I preferred to stick with the 235/60/18 size to better cut through water and not be susceptible to hydroplaning.

Go with the Yokohama's, my brother has them on his CX-7 as does a friend of mine on his. They swear by em!

i have some falken st somethings. light truck tires. i put 255/55 on the stock tire. they look better, last forever and have tons of grip wet and dry.

I had a 12 year old infinite QX-4 (nissan pathfinder) that I put yokohama winters on one winter and never took them off. they lasted three winters and three summers, with rotation, until I sold the money pit. Anyways, they still had a summer left on them when I got rid of it. i have a 09 CX-7 that came with summers on the factory mags and winters on steel rims. when the winters wear out anyways, i will get yokohama's. and probably the same for the summers eventually. Try looking at the Tire Rack before purchasing to compare pricing with your local guy. Also as a side note, I know that yokohama supplies tire to rally cars for testing anyways. same principal as goodyear and firestone supplying tires for indy and grand prix cars. they might cost a little more for winter tires in some cases, but they are worth it. yokohama Geolanders for the winter tires I had on my truck.

Love the Spec X on my CX-7. The OEM Bridgestones were dangerous garbage in even light snow. The Yoko's made a world of difference. Solid in rain and snow.

i've got the Goodyears in 235/60-18 on our CX7. They are handling very well so far (had them since may). I'm hoping that they will allow me to go a little deeper into the winter before swapping over to the snow tires. The stockers couldn't handle ANYTHING. they sucked.

Hey Forum,

I know this threads been inactive for a minute. But got a question about the coming winter.

I'm looking to get either 19 or 20 inch steelies. Which tire size would you recommend? Looking for thick ones (255 or a bit more)

Highly considering the Blizzaks.

Thanks in advace (headbang)
