Mazda, 2 Touring 5speed
Need another car in the next month or so.
I love my Mazda2 enough to have another for just commuting needs.
Found a 2013 white sport 5speed for 12.5K, new.
Other cars I am considering are the Spark, Sonic, Rio and Versa/note.
Anybody here have two Mazda2s?

Of the ones you listed, I would definitely recommend the '2. Partially because I have a pathological hatred for anything that is Chevy, but mostly because I think you'd get the most fun out of your commute in the '2, despite some loss in practicality. I was considering the Rio before I got my Mazda, but I've read that it's a decent city driver, but not too great in the extra-urban field.

I've seen some people on here with two Mazda2s, so I'm sure they'll swear by it. The '2 is, as you well know, I'm sure, a competent DD that is the most fun to drive.

We have two of them and don't regret the decision. I believe one of our Canadian members has two of them as well.

ReggNoble.....

Got three of them.. 1.3 TS, 1.3 Tamura (juliec71) & the 1.4 TD.... ;-)

All good apart from diesel injector return pipes, but thats a known problem....

Shaun....

Personally I bought a used beater car for winter driving. An old 98 Buick Regal (absolutely loaded to the gills) with 120k for $3500. Put another $1500 in repairs and it's an amazingly reliable, and I don't mind the salt destroying a 15 year old Buick as opposed to a brand new Mz2. As we're all pretty well aware, Mazdas don't do well with salt and corrosion resistance so if you do get a second 2, store it during the winter.

We have 2 2`s, we use my wifes 2 for roadtrips and mine is for fun.
Plans on mods for my wifes Mazda2,
-Corksport rear torsion bar
-Corksport dampers
-Corksport SRI
-Corksport short shift plate
-Corksport front sway bar
-RB Axle back exhaust
-extra 12v outlets outback + a power inverter to plug games and screens
-Playstation3/blu ray console
-2 screens
-Thule Roof rack + Thule Carriers
-PIAA xtreme white H4 bulbs
-PIAA xtreme white H11 bulbs
-Hella Black Magic 500 lamps with PIAA Ion yellow H3 bulbs + Home made custom brakets
-Sparco Pista 15x6.5
-Corksport LED bulb kit + extra LED's and switches to make dome lights for the kids outback
-Corksport Shorty antenna

and mine is almost complete, look at my signature and build thread. So 2 Mazda 2's is not a bad thing ;)

Thanks for all the imput guys.
I may just tough it out and use mass transit.
I would be using this second 2 to commute from NJ to NYC and its really terrible here.
Not from the area so I'll plan to move out ASAP.
Maybe I'll get the new 2 IF it ever arrives here in the states.
Though a Japanese made 2 is so tempting.
Glad to see so many people with similar taste in cars and appreciate the driving character of this amazing M2.

Me and my wife own 2's she bought a Touring model I drove it a few times then got me a sport. you can't go wrong with a 2!!!

I'm even looking into buying a 3rd Mazda2 lol, Our oldest will be 16 in 2 years and she will need a car. She loves the green of the M2, so I'll get her a used Touring.

If they are the 'only' cars in your household, there is kind of a limited utility to having 2 cars of the same size/class. I'm a big fan of the two-car lifestyle: one for fun(or utility, space, baller status, etc), and one for the daily grind. Having 2 of the same vehicle would be a tough pill for me to swallow. Plus, for the cost of 2 mazda2's you can get some pretty serious hardware. Something like a 996 Porsche 911 Carrera 4. Y'know, if you don't have, or hate your kids.

My 2nd car, is only marginally larger than the 2(longer but squatter, and with a huge rear strut bar in the middle of the cargo bay). It does, however, have 200 more HP. The Mazda's fun, but in a completely different way. It also is a Bently in terms of amenities, when compared with my WRX.

As always, 'your mileage may vary'.

(iagree) I mean let's face it, the 2 is great, but limited on its capacities. There isn't much cargo room and you throw a couple friends in it, you can feel the immense loss of power. Even my<100lb girlfriend makes the 2 feel slightly sluggish, before I even touch the A/C button.

We have 2-2's and we love them both, both sports, his- black with 17 in wheels, a jl13.5w7 upgraded door speakers, tweets. also an Injen full CAI. Full Tint, HID retro fit. Hers- red with flat black 17's, back 3 limo tint, black emblems, armrest. Im rocking 32000 miles, shes up to about 13000.
we financed ours, and got out for less than 225 buck a month per...which is low for a new car by any means.

My husband just got a fully loaded Mazda 3 Grand Touring Hatchback in white at a great price 2014. Then I decided I wanted a new car something samll and kind of sporty and also liked the hatchback style which I have never had before. Found a great deal on a 2014 Red Zeal touring and will have it in a couple days. I can't wait! Doesn't have all the tech stuff his has but I am at last getting the Mazda Integrated Bluetooth put in and it will still be better than my old 2002 Escort ZX2 I'm getting rid of. I am due for a new car and got mine for like 240 a month which is what I wanted 220-240 so I am happy.

My original comment still stands, having Two 2's limits cargo/people capacity and utility, but...I sold my BMW E30 to get my 2. The Internet says that E30 = "God's Charriot", so it's saying a lot that the two cars are very comparable.
