Navigation orientation?? - Please help a potential buyer

Hi everyone. We are not CX-9 owners today, but spent 2 hours at the dealership today trying a Grand Touring out. Most of my questions were answered just playing around, but there is one that would drive me crazy if I were an owner that I'm hoping someone can help me with! (help)

Is it possible (through options, programing, etc) to have the navigation orientation so that the vechicle icon is ALWAYS pointing up. I didn't like when I was driving and the icon was pointing down when I was going south - I had to really think about which way I was going to turn. Some may be used to this, but as a Garmin user and I currently always have the orientation moving with me (pointing up).

Can anyone fill me in on this please!! We are hoping to be owners tomorrow - great deals with end of the month/quarter here. (2thumbs) Thanks!!!

Yes...Just touch the compass on the top left of the screen. It will change the orientation view.

Thanks so much! It's good to know. And it's amazing how I can fixate on such a small feature in a big car! Hopefully we will be owners by the end of the week!

Yeah, they'll be other little "annoyances" as well that you'll get to know. Just read this board.

I'm about to pull the trigger on a 09 CX-7 for the wife and I look forward to learning those new and exciting annoyances of that model also.....but at least they'll mostly annoy her!(boobs)

I'm not sure that's true. I think they all have it.

I think hitting the compass to change orientation is pretty common.
It is the same for Honda/Acura, Toyota/Mazda/Lexus NAVI systems.
