Bought our 2016.5 new. 72K problem-free miles, 'til this happened last week:

nav.webp

Suggestions?

SD card probably went bad. It's a solid state hard drive and they do fail sometimes.

Pulled the SD card, downloaded Mazda Toolbox, and ran the diagnostics. Maps are out-of-date, but the card checks out fine otherwise. Maybe this is the push I need to install the CarPlay upgrade...

Sorry to bump - happened to me the other day.

In car
plugged in/out sd
reset nav info by holding the three buttons
unplugged battery for 10 min

Out of car
Connected to toolbox and ran diagnostic - checked out fine

Not sure what else to try besides buying new sd module or new maps sd car.

Thanks

When mine ('17 CX5) started to have this issue on and off...
I did everything people recommended here... cleaning, insertion again and again, reboot, etc.
No help.
I got a new one from A*m*n for $50, and it works fine so far.
Last thing you can try.

BTW, MID software could sometimes miss a beat when you back out (showing backup camera) before its booting is complete..... Try to let it finish booting, before engaging gear. As my wife always tells me wisely ... "Slow down, honey." ;)

Tool box won't tell you anything, card is corrupted and needs to be replaced. Amazon cards work well but you may not be able to update. .
