NA pro5 beats Porsche boxster

this is not BS..it happened tonite at a light near my house...we rolled up at a red ..he reved it light turned green and off we went...the whole time he was just short of me and couldnt seem to pass me and I was laughin and pointing at him cause i couldnt believe it...finally we had to chill cause of the speed limit and another car but it was ******(sry) nutz we got to around 60 and i think he could have taken me if we had kept goin but still i was expecting him to rip me a new one like most porsches and such do....what was even more funny is that the car that we rolled up on was a s2000 which i attempted to mess with but well....that didnt happen..still wasnt far from him either...is this possible.....????? I know the boxsters arent the most gifted vehicles but Could it be the new custom CAI/ram?????(thought) discuss/........

Boxster 90's: 7.4 sec tiptronic 0-60 :201hp....not as far off as was originally thought...maybe a pro 5 can be at least be equal in its first two gears...but obviously it could have taken me in 3rd if that car wasnt there... and thus achieve its 7.4 sec 0-60..and thats with perfect shifting which can be hard ...same curb weight too.....yeah p5

Ok, so maybe it's not BS, because you actually did end up ahead of him off the line. But there's no way in hell that the guy was actually aware that he was supposed to be racing someone. Maybe he was just curious about what the P5 had, who knows.

You would actually have an ok chance if you met this Boxter on some twisty roads somewhere, but no way off the line.

Believable. I have a friend with a boxster and it was slow and got owned a lot! So, he took it to the dealership and they found out it had a faulty O2 sensor which hindered it's performance. Once they fixed it, that car pulled hard past 120 and no one could touch it!

Not to mention, the boxter is a tricky beast to launch fast. If you give it too much gas, you won't get any traction. You usually have to repeatedly blip the gas pedal while feathering the clutch to get a good launch.

ill admit that probably he wasnt the best driver but considering how i was messin with him...why would he want to lose and it seems like it would have been hard to stay just short of me but not push it past after being showed up like that. he could very possibly had problems and remember those are stock p5 0-60 times and an auto drag will usually beat a manual especially 0-60..also we slowed up before 60 so it was more like a competion of our first two gears ,after that he could have had me..also my 1st gear redlined is 1-40mph and it revs quickly...it was fun nonetheless just dont be so hard on me god...defendin the boxster..not right i thought this was a p5 board not a porsche board

What kind of mods do you have and how do you know your HP? Have you ever dyno'd your car? I have and I'm running 116HP at the wheels. Considering the baseline run of 100HP and the drivetrain loss, my P5 is putting out around 150HP at the crank.

Dude, sorry if we rubbed you the wrong way (I just wanted to use my BS pic somewhere ).
No need to pull the attitude, we're just stating that unless that boxter had some big problems (like in Blown's story) or just didn't care to race you, there's no way a 130hp car with some mods (we'll call you 150hp being very generous) can beat a much lighter 220hp 190tq rear wheel drive from the line. Even if he stumbled through the first 2 gears (in a manual).

:wtf: when did this turn into a competition vs other Proteges? Yes, you'd probably beat me and a lot of other P5s and no one in this thread said they could beat you, it's not about that.

That Boxter would own all of us, so keep to the subject and shut your mouth if you are going to keep flaming other members (and cars) on this forum.
