2002 red Protege5
Hi! I just joined up.
I bought my car a month ago.
It's a 2002 Protege 5. It's my first car! And I like it. Before it I used to drive my moms Town&Country minivan, YEAH!
I was originally looking at a Ford Focus to get me to college, and I found a black 2004 ZX5 that I almost bought... but standing next to it was a shiny red Mazda, and I fell in love. So I hulled over a bit more money and got it instead. Zero rust on a 2002, compared to any rusty 2004 Focus I looked at.
It's an automatic. I was aiming to learn stick and get a standard so I could be the coolest girl in town, but now I'm glad I don't have to stirr it, I'm lazy.
It's got a sunroof.
Nice tinted windows.
I <3 it.

I probably won't be modifying it much, because I don't know a wrench from a screwdriver... but it's fun reading all your stories. =D

Welcome to the Familia.

Oh...and I originally thought that I wasn't going to mod mine either. That lasted a whopping 2 days.

Welcome....nice color choice as well. ;)

I also said the same as far as modding, but lasted a little longer than two days. :)

Hey nice car!

The exact same as mine, classic red, stock, tinted windows, sunroof, no rust. Red P5s rock !!!

Silver ones are faster from the factory. :)

Yeah, but who wants to go fast when one wants to be noticed???(band)

I had no choice...it was this colour or nuttin... the price got me...I know...cheap 'cause its red right? Now I have to pay more to make it as fast as a sliver one...:'(

Funny, a good friend of mine and I both had neons. His red, mine silver. Now we've both bought Mazdas; he bought a Silver one and I a red one...(braindead

Oh, BTW Leika, my car is also from Ontario...tons of (argh) rust...sheesh...you got lucky.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. All your rides are pretty sweet!

My friend just asked if I'm turning into a Mazda nerd. LOL.

I'm pretty sure those are stock rims. Or not... I really have no idea. On the right side someone dented them in a tiny bit, possibly by driving over a curb or something. I wanna get them re-painted / fixed... they're sort of peeling.

I am 98% sure it has never in an accident. I have the papers, and I also had all my buddies and my dad inspect it for me. But I guess you never know what gimmicks people will do.

P5inder, ya I did! Whoever had it before me took good care of it. Actually it was an old lady from Sudbury, and she probably kept it indoors.

Does rust proofing help? It's rust proofed now. Should I continue doing that? I'm gonna have to keep it outdoors during college in winter capital Barrie. At least it has an automatic starter installed. =]
