N/A Timeslips

I don't have time slips, but all my runs were before the mods listed anyway. I'll get slips when the EMS is tuned.
On that note, I'll be running in MD (I came from FL) and its getting cold at night, anyone have tips for running in cooler weather? anything different (setup wise) from running in 90 degree heat? I know these are probably dumb questions, but I usually do autoX, drag racing is just a fun side bar.
Thanks

QUOTE=fkmp5]here's my best time slip to date (Protege5).. I don't have it scanned in, but I could get a buddy to scan it in if you really needed to see the real thing:

R/T ..... .198
60' ..... 2.303
330 ..... 6.671
1/8 ..... 10.303
MPH ..... 67.67
1000 .... 13.426
1/4 ..... 16.084
MPH ..... 85.29

I ran a similar run of 16.096 @ 85.38[/QUOTE]

Well, I went to the track last night with a friend and ran his Hemi ram. I cant make to many excuses but I will say this. This is my first time ever at a track in a FWD car. And it SUCKS!! My reaction times sucked. I only ran 2 times. The fist time I launched between 1700-2000 RPM, and it spun just a hair and then caught traction so much it slugged down pretty good. So on the second time I launched between 23-3000 RPM. All I got to say is OUCH! The wheel hop was horrible. After that run we stopped buy the scale. I only had 2-3 g of gas in it and weighed in at 2880, he was at 5748. I wanted to see what the car would do AS IS, so I kept my heavy ass 17s and subs in. The 17s are 30+ lbs and the box a subs all though I havent weighed them, are heavy as hell. Ill go back after I put the motor mounts and strut bar on. Maybe that will help with the wheel hop and the 60ft time. Plus Ill put the 15s on and lose some of that extra weight. Im hoping the 15s (with good tires) will let me launch better with out bogging down after it catches. So heres the times. Oh and the RAM only has exhaust and K&N drop in, and is an auto. Ill try to take pics but its blurry (I got the yellow copies) so Ill type it also.

Needles to say, times like this make me miss my 97 Z28. But at least I wasnt the slowest.
Any ways, I know I posted once saying Id get 14s but we all new that was BS!!! But I did think Id be high 15s. I cant wait for my warranty to go out, then I can PP the head and intake. Oh and I also have to say I got the jitters big time. I guess it was because I was racing a co-worker that is gona rag me Monday. But damn it was fun.

So what do you think, any other ideas on the wheel hop?

Lightweight 15" wheels, grippy tires, solid motor mounts, more ridged suspension... Those'd help a lot.
motor mounts make a difference on NA proteges? hm..

maybe I should go back and get another few runs in with the full motor mounts in place...

What are some 1/4 mile times for all you Automatic Protege's out there?

I don't have my time slips on me, since i throw them away all the time. Reason for that, i race all my friends with either built B-series motors, or SR20's.

But yeah, my best time i pulled off was a 17.00 at 79 MPH. Mods i had to the car: CF Hood and Trunk, AWR Headers, SRI, High-flow Mid-pipe, and 2 1/4" cat-back to mazdaspeed axle-back.

I got a 18.2 or something like that with just header.

Now I have header, sri, udp, and magnaflow catback, so maybe I'll get an 18.1 next time lol

break down of my best run:
60ft - 2.3197sec ( i did 2.1985sec before @ calderpark)
330ft - 6.4135sec
660ft - 9.8713sec
1000ft - 12.8723sec
1/4mile - 15.4703sec @ 93.61mph

oh! forget to mention the mods: mosqito mesh DIY air filter, 2.5 custom catback, i put on my 17 stock wheel with bridgestone potenza re070, tyre press 27psi, low fat diet: take off rear seat, rear spare tyre and the cover, TWM short shifter.

i'm still waiting for the exhaust header 4-2-1, and i think i really need to learn to launch at higher rpm... i tried to launch from 3000rpm and fail miserably lol so i decided just do easy start from idle... :( after i do that then hopefully i can get 15.3... *finger crossed

I'm lazy about posting, so here are my times. I have a 2003 AT P5. This was my first time at the track. I was there 6/17/05. The only mods done to the car are AEM Short ram intake and Greddy EVO2 Cat-Back.

My first time of the day.
1/4 ET - 18.126
1/4 MPH - 78.19

And my last run.
1/4 ET - 17.604
1/4 MPH 79.00

I learned alot. Everyone should take there car to the strip at least once.

I plan to go back to the track in the spring. I want to put new struts on first. I got the awr mounts, so maybe I can launch alittle better. I bet I can hit the high 15s. But we'll see.

since am still running n/a with my 92 protege dx here are the best time i ran in a 1/4 mile
