Well as you know i spent a while swapping out the motors. I've never really had much practice, nor have i even gone much further than an oil change or so. However, A couple friends and I swapped the motors and it was FUN. Clintt(Philly Orange) and Sean(Moxnix) came to help with the install.

I bought the motor from Clintt, and Sean just wanted to help, for future reference. He is going to need to swap a motor into his msp. I belive he blew his motor.

Just so you know. The car looks like s*** at the moment. It was in a shop to get some custom body work done, however, they had it for 6 months and did nothing but **** it up. It will be redone soon.

This weekend, here is what we have done.

Disassembled the old motor from the engine bay, and unhooked all wires including sensors and the tranny from the car. We took out the old motor, tranny, axles. Removed all seats and carpet from the car. All door sills, and most moldings. Took off the old fenders. Soldered the lambo door wires, instead of the previous crimped wires. we fixed the trunk, so that it opens, however, we have YET to attach it to the trunk release.I think we are missing a part b/c of the body shop.Drained all water from trunk(body shop **** up). Cut out the body kit to fit the intercooler. Took out the hood release, and support. Installed new motor/tranny/axels..connected all wires.bolted up the old crank pulley. Bolted up the intercooler.Installed hood pins on the cf hood.

Some problems that we ran into, was finding the wires to RE attach..after the install. We had a leak in the clutch line, when further investigated, found out that we had forgotten to tighted up the bolt.fixed.the intake cam gear was not tightened down. It broke the small stud on the cam(where the cam gear attaches), and jumped timing.I have to order some new cams. I will probably order the SRMOTORSPORTS.COM cam and cam gear set. 789.00 for all.

Anyways, here are some of the pictures.

I was pretty happy till I saw them doors.

Now I am sad.

:(
doors dont work for you huh? they were cheap.thats why i did them. give it a bit of appeal. something new.

that monster piping makes the turbo setup look mean..did you flood your car or something?

flood car..no. although i could have put the trunk on myself. i figured i would just have the body shop do it, since of course that was where my car was. they left the trunk open. and it rained, and it flooded the trunk. i had to empty it. I am redoin the interior..but not TOO sure what colors i wanna do. black carpet/blue leather/or something racing seats..

I bet it would have been cheaper not to put those stupid doors on to begin with.

obviously. it was only 200.00 out of my pocket. i put them on myself. soo. ehh. I just like to learn stuff. so thats why i do half of the s*** that i do. like on every car. there are things you like, and things you dont. its all preference.

only reason i asked about the flood was becuase of the water in the trunk and the carpet being removed...what ems you going to run?

well i could have installed my cf trunk myself, but i figured wtf why dont i just let the shop do it, since that is where my car is. So i dropped it off, they switched trunks and didnt install the latch. therefore when it rained, it filled up.

bunch of morons..and i dont have my god damn key hole.

i am taking the carpet out b/c i want a different color..

i also figured that since i have to get new cams, i might as well just purchase the rest of the parts for the top end build. and then get AEM EMS..i hear that is great, if you have any other ideas, let me know.

bump to the top. anyways, you guys have any idea what timing belt is good? i would like to upgrade a bit.

The AEM is amazing, I'll be up and running with it this weekend hopefully. The features it has are cool, but if you're not going to use all of them, you might want to consider the microtech. Its cheaper, and easier to tune.

aem timing belt?

or aem ems

keep in mind that if this is going to be a street car it wont pass inspection with a standalone ems.
