awesome. Dude, I dunno if it's the narrower pipe, but I love the snarl from your car. Hotness.

Welcome back Michael! Any new mods on the SE-R?

Luke - are you having any issues with fuel cut with the msp ECU and the GT2864R?

no... i've yet to hit fuel cut at all. I rarely even go WOT in 1st gear.

hmm.. that seems like the route for me to go.
I'm having second thoughts about which EMS route to go since I have the MPI and the BEGI fmu/F.M. voltage clamp.. but it looks like getting my extra ECU reflashed might be the least troublesome way to go temporarily.

Had any small issues with the turbo kit?

I guess mine will finally be going on as soon as the clutch is broken-in.

sometimes, it seems to stumble if i let off the throttle right before it hits full boost. i'm not sure if that's normal or not.

i thought you were doing a VQ35 swap

i was thinking about it, but i changed my mind because if it starts having problems, then i'll be screwed, and it would cost roughly around $5800 by the time it's all done. i just spent $1800 on the car, n im getting hids, header, exhaust, n my bumper painted for my b day, so that's like another 900 or so(also, if any of u want some hids, a guy on thevboard.com is having a gb for $190, with the temps from 5000k to 10000k, in hi/lo settings. right now, my plan is the same as the protege, i/h/e,wheels,suspension, n minor looks, n call it quits n hopefully, this one doesn't get totalled cause i can get another car since it's paid off).

well, i finally decided to fix the radiator/AC fans today. In the process of removing the "nylon mounting rods" that hold the fan on, i punctured my radiator. Talked to Korey, and he suggested Sims Radiators. I called and they said it'd be $55. I thought that was reasonable, so I drained and dismantled my radiator. I got there right at noon, but they took a look at it for me. He went ahead and fixed it for me right there, putting epoxy on the opening. Best part... he did it for free since it was so small. So if you need some radiator work, go to Clay Sims. I went to the one in Chamblee (off of Buford Hwy).

After getting everything fixed, re-zip tying things that were cut earlier, I was looking around the engine bay. Then I noticed the flame retardant padding on the hood. It looks like it's starting to dry and crack from the heat. Is that from the exhaust manifold, turbo, or both? I'm already looking for a MSP heatshield. Should I be looking for some type of heatshield for the turbo, too?

do you have different padding than we do. I dont even have my heat shield on and nothing wrong there.

i dunno... i just noticed that i looks brittle. it just may be 100,000+ miles of heat, not specific to the turbo

again with the thinking of ideas...

I'm gonna get the car repainted after the new year, but I've also thought about getting full body vinyl... yes I said it.

You've seen the Le Mans 787B right?

They've done the paint scheme on the RX-8 also:

Here are some pictures of the new MX-5:

(super high res. pictures)

Here's my mock up I did last year:

I'd do it in these colors, possibly. So the vinyl would be anything not red:

i'm sure it'd just yell at cops to pull me over.
