My Speed got stolen last night........

Well I always feared this might happen to my beloved speed someday....It's just too much of a nice car not to attract the attention of sh!theads out there.

I was always dilligent with parking it in clear, high-traffic, well-lit areas. I always put my double pronged steering wheel club on it. I always pulled out the Kenwood's face plate. Well my paranoia was well justified cause it seems that when thieves want it badly enough....

I was at a local titty bar celebrating a friend's stag party, and when we left and went into the bar's parking lot, an old Buick was parked in the spot where my Speed SHOULD have been. I was like WTF!!!!!!

At first you don't want to believe it. I told myself maybe I simply parked a bit further away and can't quite remember....But after visually inspecting every freaking car in the place about a dozen times - even zapping each one with my key fob and reading all the licence plates for good measure - no sign of it. Now panic starts to set in. "Please, oh PLEASE! God let it be here somewhere. Tell me this did not happen!"(nervous)

So my buddies start looking around the ground in the area where it had been for broken glass and such...and one of them pulls up the confirmation - a broken Titanium Grey door lock assembly - right by a rather nasty rubber peel-out mark! Seems they yanked the whole lock right out of the door with a screwdriver or sometin (Note to Mazda: Those things don't look particularly sturdy BTW)

AHhhhh! F&&&&ck!!!!!!!:mad:

My friends tried to console me by saying "WTF do you care - it's insured - you'll get a new car now!"

Yeah, but dammit - I REALLY liked this car! I spent a lot of time and effort researching this particular purchase. And they only made so many of them. I might NOT be able to get another one, and there's not much else out there that I care for....and can afford.

Even if it's found...not sure I'd want it back in the condition those morons are likely to leave it in.

It just plain sucks......:'(

sorry to hear that man it sucks for sure

someone will probably end up with a boosted P5 or sedan somewhere if they were pros, if not the car will probably be found somewhere

I am not sure if you will even be able to find another one, they are pretty scarce now

Damn, that freakin sucks!!!!!

My cousins car was broken into about 3 days ago. Everything was gone inside. Stereo, her backpack, all CD's. She was pissed because the parking lot her car was parked in had security. They were working hard huhhh???

Good Luck getting it back. Now you can get an SRT-4. (sssh)

Damn, good luck on finding it. Lots of wrecks, blown engines and now thefts lately :(

Thats why a well placed kill switch works quite well!

That sux man. Yea a friends of mine got his FD stolen, and the cops didnt find it for 3 weeks. It later turned up abandoned in the woods. His WORKS rims and body was scratched. His insurance took care of it though, he now has a nice ass paint job and a racing beat lip on it. I gotta post some pix later, cause its one nice car.... BTW good luck on the car hope things turn out ok.

Couldn't you just pop out your engine start fuse in the panel by the dead pedal??? I've thought about it, but I'm worried that it'll do more harm than good to keep pulling it out and putting it in... lol Seriously, though does anyone think it's bad for the car?

yeh i hate these ****** assholes, my 93 protege was broken into last week but they couldn't start it because the horn wouldn't shut off, hahhah losers

damn why couldent that happend to me.
LOL that's pretty funny. I'm just curious how they were able to drive with your club on the steering wheel! I thought those things were virtually unbreakable! Look on the bright side... if you weren't such a cool guy and decided to get some lame ass car like (fill in the blank with any number of lame cars that are out there) this wouldn't have happened. (yet, you'd still be stuck with a focus or something so... I guess you're probably better off now) Anyway, maybe it'll all work out for the best. I doubt you'll be able to get yourself back into a Titanium MSP but I know someone who'd be willing to sell you their orange MSP. LOL seriously though... insurance will give you the bluebook value... which should equate to a rather high figure. Use that money to get an even better car... it's the ONLY thing that can possibly make you feel "ok" about this whole thing. hmm... only problem is, there's no such thing as a better car. DAMN!!!

damn that sucks man....sorry to hear that :(. kinda bothers me though....i use the club too. now that's making me want to spend the money and upgrade to the autolock!

damn man sorry to hear. it f*cken irritates me when people do that kind of stupid sh!t. but don't worry man what goes around comes around. thats why they don't have what you have.

I hope you find it bud. That sucks major ass. By the way I have seen two MSP's for sale here in the Dallas area.

Good luck with recovery and or gettin a new one. This community is here for you so if you need anything, let us know.

Good luck man ... its bad how low people will stoop to get something they want. Even if the cops find your car, you are not going to want it back, usually vehicals that are stolen get their VIN marked as stolen property and cause your title to get that big R or S rating for lost or salvage title. Meaning if you ever try to trade it in, your going to get s*** for trade-in value. That really suck ... hope things turn out ok for you.

I saw something on tv showing how ineefective the club was, they just cut the steering wheel and take it off.

Man that sucks about the car but I know a dealer with a titanium on the lot, I just passed it the other day. Its probably far away but hey if you want it you can drive it back or have it shipped. I hope it all works out for you.
