My samurai shift knob

its like the 50's rat rods, where you had to reach up over the level of the windshield to get to the shift knob... not very functional, but looked bad ass. somehow in general, I view the MSP as needing more function, and less.... "oh my god that thing must take like 10 seconds to shift gears".

Plus if you do shift it quickly, you're putting a LOT of stress on the linkage, and possibly the transmission. form over function ftl.

correct me if I'm wrong, but those tangs typically weigh significantly more than your average weighted shift knob..

i doubt it weighs very much, because the tang is apart of the sword. it goes into the handle and bolts/holds through the handle of the sword. hence FULL TANG.. i have a katana right here next to me. the handle weighs very little. its like a hard plastic.

i think it's a different look. props to you man. i like it!

I have 2 katana's next to me... I WIN. haha I should make one like this, but do it backwards, so the blade is faceing up.... should I?

more hate from dj fruity lol nothing new (sorry you weren't the first one to come up with this and some friendly advice, for the money you spent on your base protege, you coulda bought something worth putting money into)....the handle is made out of wood so it's actually pretty light. I got a short shifter on there and its actually a lot smoother getting in and out of gears. I practically use one finger to shift

lol, yeah cause I'd so want a sword handle to make a huge shift bar.

I like how you noticed my "hate" and no one elses, makes me feel special, thanks for taking my opinion to heart :)

Oh, and my car was paid off the day I got it cause it was so cheap so that, plus the money I've spent is still cheaper than what you paid for your car, so can you really talk?

The DJ has spoken!

YEah, well it's still not a real MSP......

lol sorry man, I am sort of obligated too...

Its all good joe, for owning a "real" msp, you're alright. haha

You've got everything you need for the rebuild, no?

Yeah, minus the clutch and the front mount, and the mounts. But I hit a snag in the payrole department. I have to take 4 weeks off in the next 2 months with only 2 days of each week being payed. So everything is being put off till after the 1st.

Of December right?

Your car has been down for as long as I can remember, it'd be nice to see it running, I'm getting tired of giving you a hard time for not having a running car, I need a new challenge. :)

No... the 1st of January... I have to take this week, the week before Christmas and the week of Christmas and New Years off. So I won't have much cash flow. Vacation only 2 days a week, and Unemployment only pays me 210 a week. Thats only $20 more than my car payment if I pay it on a biweekly basis.

But I found a good cheap machinest so by no later than the 15th of Jan I will have the motor work done and start putting it back to gether with the fun go fast parts.
