My parents rock!!!

Today is my b-day and I usually wouldn't gloat about this. My parents just surprised me in the best way.

My first car was bought by my dad but I had to pay him back at a rate of $400 a month for the $13 500 car. Now I went for a trade in for my mp3 and I kept the loan with him instead of paying him off to reduce taxes on trade in and so forth.

Now I have about $3000 left in payments.... Today my parents sent me a $2000 rebate on their loan.... It was interest free on top of that....

I just wanted all of you to know that my PARENTS ROCK!!!!

Thanks for letting me gloat.....

My first car was a '78 Dodge Omni with no floorboards or exhaust system. I paid $50 the week after I graduated from High school for it. I wsan't allowed to have a car in HS. I'm not judging you, but you're spoiled. :)

Ok well the spoiled comment I won't fight it off, cause it is partly right. You also have to know that I have paid my entire school out of my own pocket. That's $25 000 no loans or money borrowing from anyone... just busting my ass with part time jobs and everything else in life and I also wasn't living at home I move 8 hours away from my home town.

Whatever I bought in high school or university, I had to pay for it... I also have been working PT since the age of 11 shoveling driveways in winter and cutting lawns in summer... I was making about $120 a month with 6 yards to take car of.... at the age of 11 I think that is damn good.. and I couldn't use none of the money unless it was for something that I needed.... it really paid off....

I have busted my ass for 13 years....I know some do it for more... but some get lucky once and awhile....

Just picking on ya man. It's cool. I hope to be able to do it if I ever have kids too. It's good they are making you pay them back though. That's a good idea. At least they didn't just give it to you and have you go out and wreck it so they could get you another one.
