My new Silver Protege 5

Hey I'll have my car for two weeks tomorrow and I got the windows tinted yesterday so I decided to take some pics and get some opinions of it. Its a 2003 Protege 5, silver in color and a 5 speed manual transmission (my first standard transmission, and I taught myself to drive the day I bought it, and I've only stalled like 10 times total in two weeks, about 8 of which where the first two days.) Other than tinting the windows and getting chrome valve caps I haven't done anything else yet. I'm considering painting the front grills chrome too (what do you think?) and I'm looking for other suggestions. Any suggestions and comment would be welcomed and aprieciated. Oh by the way my tint is 15% all around except for the windshield, what do you think?

Yeah I think the Silver is the best color, although LIghtning Blue is nice too. How long you had yours? I"m impressed with the car so far, a little more power wouldn't hurt but I can live with what it has.

I paid $194 taxes in canadian for my windows to be tinted. So for you americans out there, thats about $135 US I guess. For all the windows I think that's a pretty good deal. At least it was the best price I could find locally that had some good warranty.

I hear it's best to get metallicized (spell?) tint. I want to tint my silver P5 also. What's the difference between getting 15% or 35%? Is that the darkness of the tint?

yea the % of the tint is the darkness of the tint. out where u live the legal limit and if u can or can not tint the driver window. out here in cali tinting the driver window is illegal but i dont care i am going to do it anyways. i am going limo in the back and dark up front!!

Just be careful.. because some cops here in Miami will actually slash your tint just so you have to replace it anyways. Bastards. :wtf:

Yeah, Lapis, I understand the Canadian models are sold with black moulded plastic for the headlamp housings. Made me wonder whether to go ahead and tear my headlamps apart to paint em, or just trade/buy from a Canadian owner/scrapyard.

Right now... I've decided not to change anything about the headlights. Not 100% certain, so I'm not doing anything I might regret!
