I hit 145 on the freeway racing a mini cooper S (he got smoked) it still had some left.

i do love the look, just not the low torque... i test-drove an rx-8 and Z back to back, and the Z just had so much more power. The rx-8 was more comfortable though, as the Z kind of squished my back

but man is the rx-8 the better looker. I fell in love with the first pic I saw.

I know what you mean, because I was a little skeptical about that as well... I was looking for something to push me into the seat, but I will say it doesn't do such a bad job at it, well for me at least! Put it in 5th gear @4k and it definitely goes!! The Z is nice but it wasn't an option for me considering I need a back seat for my boy! But I will also say the 8 packs quite a punch for a 1.3L engine compared to the Z or G35 with a V6. I'm happy that's for sure! Thanks for the compliment! It is nice!


RAAZ - It's fast enough for me, that's all I can say for now... still breaking it in!

It's a really pretty car in yellow. I test drove one at Tustin.

It's a shame that it's only a 15 secondish car at the track. If it were fast I'd consider it. My next car is going to be pared down to either a yellow EVO VIII or an orange 350z base.

Please for the love of god learn about rotaries and rotary mainenance (if you don't already) before you try to drive the hell out of it. The reason why I say this is because I have been hearing stories of people beating the absolute s*** out of their RX8s before they even reach 1000 miles, then bitching at Mazda when their CELs come on or their engines blow.

5th gear at 4k? I test drove one and it has no guts below 6,500 rpm. You really have to gas it to redline each gear and juggle it into high rpms when you change gears in order to get it moving.

Despite the fact that it's a 1.3L, it eats more gas than the Z's 3.5!

It's not a bad car. It's killer handler for sure. But for an expensive car it's not a fast one.
